Getting slightly nervous about my potential P1 as my SYD-LHR flights last Thursday haven't credited double SCs yet - all other flights credited within a few days...

My last day for eligible flights on this offer was 30 June when my status reassessment period ended. I flew on the 27 June but as yet have had no bonus status points credited. It only took 2 days before the bonus credits hit the account for a previous flight. Do the bonus credits still get applied in a new earning year?

Yes. Bonus credits will come in but with a symbol (double dagger) - that says they aren't counted in the current year.
Will also credit any additional Loyalty Bonuses for the prior year.

Family members SYD-AKL-MEL-SYD JASA flown on 27/28 June credited with the Double SCs on 3 July along with a Loyalty Bonus.
Got them to LTG. Qantas also comped Plat on 1100 SCs - had been worried as they hadn't even got a show cause letter.

Very pleased with how this turned out - bonus credits for my JASA on 30 June posted on 3 July, backdated to 30 June which means I snagged SG on the last day of my membership year! QF even adjusted the points for my 1 July flight to reflect the status bonus as SG instead of PS

If only they could have done something about QP access - was turned away as my account only showed PS on 1 July... oh well

Quite a disappointing turn of events. I got quotes for travel Oz-UK-Oz in March. I then booked on 4 April and ticketed on 15 May. QF are now saying that it wasn't eligible as it was "booked" on 1 March

Yep - I have started discussions with QF. If I had known that getting a quote prevented this then I wouldn't have blown 40K points on an JASA and will be asking for a refund of that.

All sorted now. DSCs have credited.

I understand their rationale - when a TA makes a booking it does hold that seat until the TA releases it (hence it has a PNR) and thus is no longer available for sale. The promo is designed to encourage new bookings. It does make me think therefore in the future if I am targetted again for the promo that I will ensure that actual new bookings are made rather than a quote rolled forward.

P1 has moved from very probable to assured.

I am concerned that I may be in the same boat as Simongr- did you have to wait until the end of the 6 week posting period to get this sorted? I initially asked my agent for a quote before I got the double SC email. I had not paid/booked, yet though. After getting the double SC email, I contacted my travel agent and asked him to ensure that flights were booked so that they were a new booking, which he said he did. He advised that the booking date would be the date the flight was ticketed.

I flew Syd-HKG return 2 weeks ago, and standard SC's have posted, but not the double SC's. When I flew a domestic flight under the deal, they posted within a few days.

My membership year expires at end of July and I have booked some QANTAS/AA travel for August.

If I wait the 6 week period to sort this out:

a.) My membership year will have expired
b.) I'll miss out on Silver Benefits for my US travel, so it will cost me lots more for seats/luggage/etc.

I am concerned that if I wait the six weeks and then get told "oh no those aren't eligible... I'll be stuck on bronze (despite having gone ahead and booked the Qantas flights in order to get the Double SC's/Silver.. frustrating!).

I have called and they say I have to just wait the six weeks... but the agents looking at my booking apparently can't confirm the booking date?

Any tips would be appreciated!

I made a booking early last week to Shanghai as a result of getting the Double SC email - was a great case of the email marketing/offer working as I wasn't necessarily travelling but the extra SC's will tip me over into Platnium for the 1st time.....
And then QF came out with their Olympic sale on Saturday. So 2 tickets MEL-SYD-SHA rtn @ $6k each promptly cancelled ($500 canx fee I think) and re-booked at $3600 each. Total of about $8k instead of $12k.

Was there another Double SC promotion? Last week would mean you booked in July, this is outside the original double SC's promotion that prompted this thread.

Yep there was 'another' one - I rec'd email on 03/07/12 for new bookings made and flights travelled between 03 Jul 2012 and 30 Sept 2012.

It appears QF are doing some quite targeted 'enticing' to customers getting close to the next tier up but with not enough travel booked currently to tip them over the line.

Oh ok thanks. I didn't receive it. Would be handy though, got a couple of domestic and one trip to HKG planned next month! oh well, i wont make it to P1, even with those, so no loss.

I can see I will have issues trying to get double SCs for the booking I used the gift voucher. I know medhead has posted he has had success but I am not convinced I can do the same.

And I stuffed up again I booked an eligible flight in August using my free flight voucher. 2 weeks later not double SC. (Can't find my post about the original stuff up.

I was very insistent that it was a new booking because it was a voucher and not a change of already booked flights. They were able to check and see that I didn't have any flights booked in December and agreed to give me points of the basis that it was new flights that were booked and not a change to existing flights.

It appears we have multiple threads on double SC offers and getting confused where our posts end up.

I have been able to get my flights credited and it appears they do listen to reason.
