Interesting T&C about gift vouchers - guess that loophole is now closed - maybe that is what someone was referring to when they said that Qantas is devaluing :)

Frequent Flyer - Member Specials - Double Points offer

(yes I know, that says Double Points, but the actual page refers to DSC)

That was in the changed T&C for this promo so it's not entirely new.

Double points?! Can’t they get anything right?? That one phrase will generate a thousand replies on here.
Also makes an appearance in the T&Cs:

Flight gift vouchers purchased but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking during the promotion period will not earn double Qantas Points.

Great pick up!! So all those GV bookings are A-OK for Double Status Credits then. bwhahahaha

spot the intern who did a lousy cut and paste job? so poor QF. Honestly this just sums up their entire operation at times.

Can’t wait, I’d been getting used to dsc offers earlier in the year, however this is right after my anniversary. Love it.

I'll register again tomorrow

Oh wow. You sure this is a general offer open to everyone?
Browsing the QF website I see no reference to it. Not under member specials or the home page banner. Did you get an email or something @RichardMEL ??

Interesting that you cant book flights yet. Almost look like they posted it a day early and it's not meant to be up yet.

No plans to fly, no point in GV , so I shall miss out on this one.
And I can’t see anything on my log in anyway. Is this targeted?

Will be interesting to see if it still works.

I recall QF previously ran a points promo this time of year with some targeted also getting dsc. With this page it could be a work in progress that isnt meant to be live. Could end up being a double points with targeted double status credits.

First thing that jumped out at me.

As mentioned before, this is why when I phone the Frequent Flyer Line, they don’t know the difference between Status Credits & Points. Lack of attention to detail and poor training.

I call the FF Line to query my “missing Status Credits” only to be told my “points” have been posted. AKL call centre frequently insist that Points & Status Credits are the same thing, even calling them Status Points

BTW. Gift Vouchers bought during the February DSC Promotion (I still have a dozen), and used to book eligible flights during this promotion should earn Double Status Credits.

I have always felt bad for people who booked a bunch of flights right before an offer like this appeared. Now it’s my turn - I booked four flights yesterday.

Win some/lose some.

I tried to register and got an error message that the promotion is closed. Was anyone else successful in registering?

QF is saying this promotion starts tomorrow. we have to wait until tomorrow to register then book. Great debacle from QF.

Will be interesting to see that if this promotion is in fact made live tomorrow and open to all frequent flyers, will any sale fares exist?
In the last DSC promotion, most routes and fares types had little on offer except a French Pacific Island that all of sudden became popular for those chasing status.;)
