If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply.

Does anyone know if this has been in the fine print of previous global DSC offers?

At least back as far as 2016.

Does anyone know if this has been in the fine print of previous global DSC offers? If I can no longer make "placeholder" Flex bookings and then move them to when I am actually going to fly, that just made retaining WP into 2020 that much harder...

It has been in previous promotions
But my understanding and experience is that as long as the new flight dates are within the original promotional period still then DSC will still work.
Its if you change it and flights are outside the promo period that they dont apply.

Probably been asked a million times, but if my DSC post after my qualification year ends, do I get my status retention still?

Good to know, it has always been my understanding is that the PNR is what matters ( and taking the flights in the time range allowed). Just have to find the cash now - hadn't planned on booking the LAX flights until the "usual" DSC period in the new year - lucky the Amex ticks over to a new month tomorrow!

Link tells me ‘TEST PAGE’

This was obviously put up too early by QF. They realised and have disabled it for now (typical poor QF efforts).

This offer, if it is put up as it was before.. IS FROM THURSDAY 9th AUGUST!

I expect a splash screen for the promo tomorrow on the QF webpage and the page to be active.

And again, registering after 1000 AEST (0000 Zulu) is likely going to save pain down the track. That's just a suggestion.

Because it doesnt start till tomorrow.

And perhaps discussion of this new offer should move over to the new thread??
I received an ‘offer closed’ when I tried this morning.

has been experienced in previous promos, there have been issues for those who have registered prior to 0000 GMT (or Zulu) on the register from date. Again I highly encourage people to not register till after 10000 (or 1100 to be extra safe) AEST on the 9th to cut down on extra hassles.
In my experience whether you book the flight after midnight GMT is more important than if you register after then, but it would be safer to do both after midnight GMT. Do make sure you register before you book.

Which is accurate, since it opens tomorrow, August 9th (till the 14th) per the offer page(which was clearly made public too early)

I have always felt bad for people who booked a bunch of flights right before an offer like this appeared. Now it’s my turn - I booked four flights yesterday.

Win some/lose some.
I lost out in the last DSC offer in Feb (could only book 1 trip as others already booked with VA) so now I can say my timing is perfect, as I have trips to MEL, SYD and PER in the planning stages for August/Sept.

This will help me get much closer to LTG. It's the only time I fly QF :o. I'm ready for a double yolker ;)

Yes. I found that out after. Just curious that someone said they registered.

Twas me and my screen shot but no email confirmation. I'll go through the process again tomorrow if and when it goes live.

The only DSC offer that has fallen when I've been able to book something was for my RTW trip last year. Very unlikely I'll be able to plan, lock in and book my trip for this year by the 14th.

Might be able to lock in my next short trip by then, if certain companies in Japan release event ticket sales soon.:(

I am a newbie to status runs :) I want to try this out with a double status credit promo. Have previously concentrated on the points game. Can somebody please tell me for Qantas if you want to book more than 2 sectors on a single date, do you have to use a travel agent to achieve this?

I wasn't sure about problems with the actual registration, but there certainly have been issues with bookings made before 10am AEST on the first day of a promotion.

I think there were reports of people not getting the confirmation email and QF claiming they hadn't registered?

Historically does VA usually offer a deal in comparison when QF runs these?

I’m hanging out for a VA Double Promo.
