I am a newbie to status runs :) I want to try this out with a double status credit promo. Have previously concentrated on the points game. Can somebody please tell me for Qantas if you want to book more than 2 sectors on a single date, do you have to use a travel agent to achieve this?
You cant book sectors that stop in the same city on the same day. Those need to be separate bookings
ie
SYD - MEL - SYD - BNE - SYD.

But booking more than 2 sectors in a single date is possible.
ive done SYD-BNE-CNS-BNE-SYD in single day. I searched for SYD-CNS return using same day and just selected the segments that connected via BNE rather than the direct flights. As long as i maintain MCT between the flights when i pick the return it will / has let me book on the site no issues.

If you registered and took advantage of a DSC offer earlier in 2018, are you eligible for this DSC also?

I read on an article about this month's DSC offer that certain people who recently took advantage of a DSC offer may not be eligible for this offer, but I can't find the article now.

As long as this is a general offer and you dont have any other active offers at the moment eg 50% bonus promo then you can use both. There is no exclusion on who is eligable that we know about yet.

Yes (barring unexpected changes to the T&C) but you can't apply more than one DSC to a booking. But certainly there's nothing to stop you buying more flights under the new promotion even if you used the last promotion.

Hi

Im chasing quick status credits only need about 100 before OCT.
if i book QF: GC - ADL via MEL will i get the SC for GC-MEL and then MEL-ADL?
also i want to book with Amex travel credit received with Amex Qantas CC?

Thanks
Jay

Historically does VA usually offer a deal in comparison when QF runs these?

I’m hanging out for a VA Double Promo.

Not usually at the same time.

These deals are more about meeting internal sales targets than matching competitors' offers.

Hmm...I had a targeted 50% bonus status credits promo at the end of June, and had booked a few flights all the way to september with this promo. They were all Flex fares, so can I cancel these flights, get credit vouchers for the cancelled flights and then rebook the same flights under this new promo to get double status credits rather than just 50%?

I'm pretty sure that if I cancel these flights and get refunded to my credit card(+pay $99 cancellation fee for each flight), I can take advantage of the DSC as the new bookings will be brand new, but not sure how it works with the credit vouchers(which will come without a cancellation fee). Just want to take advantage of the DSC without cancellation fees if possible.

Yes, they are two distinct flights, so DSC would work nicely. Unlikely to have caveats as with whom one can book - direct, via a Travel Agent or even the Business Rewards portal have all worked for me. Even better if Amex want go give you money back ;)

The original PNR (booking reference) needs to be closed and refund made to CC so brand new DSC booking can be made - whereas refund via the credit shell (voucher) normally retains the original PNR + date, so would be ineligible for the upcoming promo.

thats handy, so even through its a stop over and not separate booking the MEL section still counts instead of only the GC-ADL counting like a direct flight?

Yes. Hence the expression, “Why fly direct when you can connect”
And even watch the connecting city. From Adelaide for instance flying to Cairns there are less credits flying via Brisbane than if routing through Melbourne.

OOL-MEL is one flight with one flight number
MEL-ADL is a different flight with a different flight number
So yes, you will earn SC for OOL-MEL plus MEL-ADL

Basically consider separate flight numbers/segments to count.
The only time this becomes confusing, or could, is a through flight number - eg: QF11 SYD-LAX-JFK or QF1 SYD-SIN-LHR. That's when the SYD-JFK or SYD-LHR total SC would count.

Now there used to be a QFlink flight(maybe still do, I don't know) intra QLD I think to/through Gladstone or somewhere like that that kept the same flight number as a through flight, but again it will be based on the specific origin and destination of fown flights.

As noted above OOL-MEL is a separate flight (eg: QF881) to MEL-ADL (eg: QF687). both sectors will have SC (and thus DSC) apply

Awesome thanks for your help.
One more rookie question, do the SC`s need to in your account before the Status change cutoff date or do you just need to have flown the route before the cutoff date?

Flown the route.

Multiple legs can work very well. I had one excellent trip where a kind Qantas person created a multi city itinerary from a single GV booked flight. Every single leg collected DSC's, all seven of them! Wouldn't count on it though, I still don't know how he did it.

I have been lucky this year with double SC to LHR return. I might even make the P1 ...........threshold crossed fingers for another Promo.

Gotta love QF

Don’t we all, don’t we all! :)

Wondering if I should do the Viking cruise from Puerto Rico in December and have a DSC trip on the way. Too many decisions.
