I have been lucky this year with double SC to LHR return. I might even make the P1 ...........threshold crossed fingers for another Promo.

Unfortunately double SCs don't count towards P1 status anymore (or towards loyalty bonuses). I believe this changed in March this year. DSCs can still help you get as far as Platinum, and they also contribute to your lifetime status tally, but that's all they are useful for now.

Certainly hasn’t counted toward loyalty bonuses before (which is ludicrous itself) but they have counted toward attaining or retaining P1 itself to date. Presume we’ll need to see the T&Cs to see for sure.

If the P1 program was genuinely improved with some more specific benefits then I wouldn’t mind such a restriction. And I say this as someone who only qualified P1 (first or second year anyway) with the help of DSCs.

That likely explains it.

I flew QF9 MEL-LHR on Mar 3 and QF10 LHR-MEL Mar 16 about 1 week before Qantas switched back from Dubai to Perth.

Guess it took more than 10min or so to rebuild from the CMS. Well that's good.

They've also fixed the T&C reference to double points.
