Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

A quick question that someone might be able to help me with - I've got some of my DSC banker Blackall to Longreach bookings sitting there, and I want to take a couple of Classic Rewards flights and DSC the Points Club SC's earned. Can the QF call centre book Classic Rewards flights for me if I ring them? (as I need to change one of those banker bookings to these new flights).

Was it a classic award to start with? If not, I don't believe you can change a revenue booking to an award booking, or vice versa (nor mix the two). Perhaps I'm wrong there... but pretty sure.

No wasn't a classic award booking - just a regular revenue booking - if that is the case then damn! It all could be moot if the damn Qantas website doesn't sort itself out - am getting all sorts of errors and half loaded pages while confirming the availability of the Classic Rewards seats (they were still there yesterday)

Looks like "Harry" my tame DSC intern is now playing with the website after playing with the app last week...

so the banker bookings (blackall to longreach) can be cancelled for a flight credit to retain the value of the DSC, or if otherwise cancelled for a refund LESS A $99 FEE seeing they are Flexi fares.

either way, that doesn't provide you the option to use the said credits for Classic Rewards - as the flight credits goes through a particular portal
  • Flight Credits cannot be used for bookings made outside the options mentioned above, such as through the flight search page or the Qantas app.

Using more than one Flight Credit?

Yes usually they are more expensive RIP Red e-deals. They say you get what you pay for.

Stupid question (mostly because I just want the reassurance that I'm not wrong) - I have flexible fares for an overseas trip in July, if I have to change my flights (same starting and ending destinations, but the routing for the outward journey will need to change to be through different cities and there'll be a date change by a day) I will still get the DSC at the flexible rate for the QF metal qualifying flights within the booking provided the booking reference stays the same... Is this correct?

When you call Qantas to make these changes do you have to explicitly tell them to keep the same booking reference or will they do that automatically?

Yes, you should retain DSC- depending of course what fare class the rebooking is into(ie Flex or discount) and that new dates are prior to Feb 14, 2025.

You should not need to explicitly ask re the booking reference - tge PNR would be kept despite the changes, unless they want to cancel everything and start again - which should not happen.

I think you mean Feb 14, 2025?

Hello, just completed a status run to AKL on the weekend. Normal points and SCs posted about 30 mins after landing, the DSCs were posted 24 hours after both journeys. Retained Gold pretty cheaply and with less flying than usual. Back to normal next year - see if I can get to Platiunum again. Cheers,

If you don't mind what did it cost and how many SC's earned?

It was a Discounted Business Sale Fare - cost $1559.83 incl. Taxes for 160 SC + 160 Bonus SC = 320 SC. Suited my timing (could only travel on a weekend).
Many thanks. I might have a need to do a trip to NZ shortly so this might work well

Went down to CBR from SYD at the weekend using a J CR booking (U class), which credit SCs for me as PC/PC+ member. Base SCs credited by the time I looked after landing, in either direction, and the DSCs credited automatically after about a day, as others have experienced. 72 SCs for a U return SYD-CBR is rather decent.

This was my first of a few DSC bookings to be flown before Feb 2025, and I was pleasantly surprised they credited without the need for intervention, as I needed to chase up all of my DSCs for last year's promo.

Next DSC flights are on revenue J tickets in July, and it will be interesting to see whether they work automatically in combination with my QF Premier Ti card, which gifts a bonus 20% on the base SCs, as well. I'll be sure to post here afterwards.

Cheers,
Matt.

DSCs for flights last week that I booked with a voucher (voucher issued before DSC period, but booking made during DSC period) have, as predicted, not credited. Looks like I'll probably have to contact Qantas about this at some point.

DSC should have been granted per the FAQ.

I am guessing that business logic would be hard to automate and they probably just manually credit them... They'd have to look at a PNR that was created prior to the booking period, used to book during the travel period, but not including cases like a reschedule of a voucher into the travel period but outside of the booking period.

Are you meant to get the DSC on a QF coded 3K flight?
My recent trip had 5 sectors, all QF coded, 1 operated by 3K, 1 the AY wet lease.
The DSC posted for everything besides the 3K operated flight within 2 days of the normal points posting.
