A quick question that someone might be able to help me with - I've got some of my DSC banker Blackall to Longreach bookings sitting there, and I want to take a couple of Classic Rewards flights and DSC the Points Club SC's earned. Can the QF call centre book Classic Rewards flights for me if I ring them? (as I need to change one of those banker bookings to these new flights).

Was it a classic award to start with? If not, I don't believe you can change a revenue booking to an award booking, or vice versa (nor mix the two). Perhaps I'm wrong there... but pretty sure.

No wasn't a classic award booking - just a regular revenue booking - if that is the case then damn! It all could be moot if the damn Qantas website doesn't sort itself out - am getting all sorts of errors and half loaded pages while confirming the availability of the Classic Rewards seats (they were still there yesterday)

Looks like "Harry" my tame DSC intern is now playing with the website after playing with the app last week...

so the banker bookings (blackall to longreach) can be cancelled for a flight credit to retain the value of the DSC, or if otherwise cancelled for a refund LESS A $99 FEE seeing they are Flexi fares.

either way, that doesn't provide you the option to use the said credits for Classic Rewards - as the flight credits goes through a particular portal
  • Flight Credits cannot be used for bookings made outside the options mentioned above, such as through the flight search page or the Qantas app.

Yes usually they are more expensive RIP Red e-deals. They say you get what you pay for.

Stupid question (mostly because I just want the reassurance that I'm not wrong) - I have flexible fares for an overseas trip in July, if I have to change my flights (same starting and ending destinations, but the routing for the outward journey will need to change to be through different cities and there'll be a date change by a day) I will still get the DSC at the flexible rate for the QF metal qualifying flights within the booking provided the booking reference stays the same... Is this correct?

When you call Qantas to make these changes do you have to explicitly tell them to keep the same booking reference or will they do that automatically?

Yes, you should retain DSC- depending of course what fare class the rebooking is into(ie Flex or discount) and that new dates are prior to Feb 14, 2025.

You should not need to explicitly ask re the booking reference - tge PNR would be kept despite the changes, unless they want to cancel everything and start again - which should not happen.

I think you mean Feb 14, 2025?
