Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

It's what's selected at the end

Can I switch my reward within the offer period?

Yes. Once you’ve registered for a reward, you can change your mind by re-completing the prompts in either the Qantas App or on the campaign page. We will ensure the final reward chosen will be awarded on all eligible flights booked within the offer period. From 28 February 2024, you'll be unable to switch.

Remember it's also a DP promotion, so isn't just about elite status for everyone (despite the understandable bias for SC in the AFF bubble in general).

Be interesting to know the split across participants tbh.
I registered for DSC and will retain WP through this offer for mainly leisure and 1 work trip.

Mr Seat 0A has registered for DP. He’s already LTG and would not get enough DSC to make WP. So for him the DP is better.

Ehh, but the FAQs state

If you use a gift voucher, that would be using a PNR issued before the current DSC period, and yet per the FAQs it would still provide the bonus reward.

They won't credit. Almost certainly due to PNR creation date.

This is what doesn't make sense about this particular FAQ. We all know it's the PNR creation date and when the PNR creation date is outside of this seven-odd day window, it's no dice, yet the FAQ says something very different (the opposite, in fact).

I agree because the FAQ states "If you use a Gift Voucher..." not stating when that may have been purchased is as usual vague. We know in the past that previously bought vouchers or crefits would not be eligible - with the exception last year that they were very specific regarding ise of covid credits - not GV's per se, but technically similiar in respect to how they were implemented. This wording now may be a newer and more inclusive version of that.

It's quite amazinging even after all these years that the wording is STILL up for interpretation. They've never been good at this stuff! 🤣

Well, if it doesn't work automatically, I'll let people know how I go about arguing my point with QFF support :) I feel like my interpretation of the FAQ is valid.

Also, @elanshin's experience shows that there's at least something else at play other than PNR creation date if a new PNR created during a split maintains DSC. IIRC @sudoer also tried something last year where he split his PNR (booked before DSC) during a DSC period (thus creating a new PNR during DSC booking period), but I don't recall if we ever found out what happened there.

YMMV

There is always the possibility that, ahem, enhancements to the backend have been made. It's naive to assume otherwuse.

QF invite the arguments based upon their own wording which is unclear - despite obvious changes over the years to clarify them.

I have an AMEX travel credit which needs to be booked through the AMEX portal, will that still count towards double status credits?

Have a potential USA work trip for 2 pax, but at the moment it is still TBC.
It will be the same as per the trip taking in 2023;

BNE - SYD, SYD - LAX, LAX - PDX, PDX - LAX, LAX - BNE in Flexible Economy.

Have tried to get a confirmation all week, but unable too, so now thinking may have to take the option as suggested in post #207, in making the flex booking.

My question would be, if i book 1 x pax for $249 flex, can i then change it to 2 x pax for the trip to USA if it gets confirmed?

Alternatively, thinking to book 2 x flex tickets, 1 pax each allowing for options if flights are not together or at the same time.

I guess it's whether i want to invest $249 or $498, right?

For the record, I wasn't expecting DSC from the split PNR. I was very surprised when I got it. I was just stuck with a 4 pax credit that I couldn't use as it needed 4 pax.

I need 277 status credits to retain WP, so I'm looking at booking 2 return Business Classic Rewards flights. 1) SYD>MEL via CBR and, 2) SYD>CBR via MEL. I have Points Club.

I thought I had the SC figured out and then I noticed these flights are 'mixed cabin' and 1 of the 2 flight legs is in Economy! Is my assumption correct that these flights will only earn 25 SC one-way (18+7) rather than the 36 SC one-way (18+18) that I had originally expected?

Have you tried that outside of the initial 24h free cancel window?
Can you confirm that during the initial 24 hour window only the date/time can be changed but after that the route can be modified?
Also, do you have to purchase the initial ticket using a GV or can you purchase it directly?
Thanks.

You might find it easier just going for SYD-xMEL-ADL return or SYD-xMEL-HBA.

New Amex Ultimate card arrived yesterday and, of course, the $450 credit hasn't automatically appeared on the account. Was wanting to use it today. How annoying!

I'm aiming for a Gold status.
Anyone knows if my membership restarts end of September and I travel in September but get the double points in October, would they auto qualify me for the Gold or it's something I have to contact them for?
thats similar to me also! Didnt think about doubles not being awarded till Oct?

Not even really sure what this is about tbh
The only "feature" I know of involving the first 24h is the free cancel. Any other changes I imagine are governed by the fare rules.

Also, do you have to purchase the initial ticket using a GV or can you purchase it directly?
Thanks.
Fares can be purchased however you like. Some folks like to.use GV's for simple bookings(due to restrictions on use like no multicity etc) to.avoid CC fees.
