  • Join up and get a 20% discount on pre-ordered duty free alcohol, fragrance and cosmetics and a 5% discount on cameras and electronics.

Here's a tip for those flying in to MEL International in the next month or so:
I've been buying in MEL arrivals a lot lately.

This is solely due the the 20% discount coupons available from Skybus counters. The current version is valid until Feb 28th and only at Melbourne Arrivals Duty Free.
Level 1, T2

It's 5% for "Electrical".

In a week or two I'm flying into BNE - Any know of current discounts/promotions for BNE arrivals?

Feb 8th ...

Can't help (in any way that I know of yet!). F1rst and Syd Duty Free had a $10 off $50+ purchase voucher available if you updated your F1rst or Syd Duty Free profile (or signed up). Voucher expires 31 Jan.

Couple of issues with the voucher tho - the staff tend to think they're fakes (photocopies  ) even though they're printed from the website and secondly, they're not valid if you are buying goods on special.

OK, found one for my trip.

On the last page of a brochure document from the www.bne.com.au website is a code which, if used when pre-ordering for collection from BNE will save $10 if purchase is over $100. (Base cost - e.g. Item total of $105 - pay $95)

The document is 13Mb, so it quite large: BAC Summer 0809

The code is BAC101699.

If pre-ordering online the discount code used does not need to be airport specific. I have used the code SYD100899 for pre-ordering duty free purchases in MEL, SYD and BNE recently. No hassles whatsoever but I think the code expired on 31/12/2008 and I have not had any need to try it since then.

Presume you're pre-ordering before 31 Jan, as that's when the voucher is set to expire?
Yep ... and done ...

Mind you, I'm sure another code will be available soon enough ...

BTW, many overseas ports are often less expensive even without F1rst's 10% / $10 discounts.

However, I am coming in from HKG and in this case it's cheaper to use BNE. If I was inbound to MEL I would be utilising 20% discounts.

If I was inbound from NZ, then I'd be buying it there.

The new ones are out and aare valid until August 31st - Still 20% or 5% off purchases.

Are these only for MEL inbound purchases? Can they be used for MEL outbound purchases as well?
Inbound only - and not for pre-orders.

Quite cunning in a few ways; they make them hard to see and use.

They are at the bottom of a small sheet of Skybus vouchers are about 5cm x 1cm so hard to see/find.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I coming in through SYD from NRT later next month and cannot find any discounts for that place.

I guess I'll just have to see what I can get in NRT ...

Promotion code SAC105399 is still valid next month if ordering online and purchasing >$100....

Sorry if I've missed something but are these vouchers to be picked up departing MEL or somewhere near the Duty Free shop on arrrival?

Does the 20% include booze?

They are Skybus vouchers available from Skybus counters so I do not think you will be able to pick up the vouchers somewhere near the duty free on arrival.

Does the 20% include booze?
Yes but only 5% on electrical.

As JohnK posted, you need to pick these up before departing Australia.

They are available at the skybus Kiosks in Spencer St and MEL T1 / T 3.
