Editing Hilton booking doesn't really edit the booking any more?

When i was booking stays for my last trip, I would book the semi flexible rate and if the price drops I would go into the booking, edit it and choose the room again at the lower rate.

However recently I tried this trick and even though the confirmation screen shows the lower rate (as well as the Mastercard 3D 2FA), the actual booking doesn't change and still shows the higher rate.

Any one knows what's going on?

I did this the other day and it worked, and got a new confirmation email. Have you tried again?

Failing that, you may just have to cancel and rebook.

Tried a few times. Got the new confirmation but showing the old amount.

No, but have you just tried a new booking and cancel the original? That’s what I do.
Yes I'm doing that if it's an expensive booking to get cash back. For cheaper bookings, sometimes I couldn't be bothered with the cash back.

Maybe it's on bookings where they've taken money already. On the bookings I changed, they hadn't taken anything yet.

Nope, all are semi flex so no actual money taken. The mastercard 3D was just pre auth
