Why I would be targeted for discounts on baby stuff is beyond me, given my age alone would suggest my activities in that dept were long gone , and they do know my age
Maybe you're not firing blanks and they know that too?

I've also been inspired by Joshua's efforts but would like some advice on whether I should get involved in this given my situation.
I don't like Qantas or Woolworths.
I have been concentrating on Velocity for the past 2 years and for a self-funded leisure flyer (15 - 20 flights per year) I've earnt good points through flying almost exclusively with VA and taking advantage of the random offers (credit card sign-on bonuses, double points in the global shop etc). If there was a similar offer to WOW with Coles and VA FF I would be all over it like a rash.
However, there are only so many ways to earn VA points without flying or spending lots of money.
This seems to be the only offer at the moment for any airline in Australia that has the possibility of SERIOUS points earn for very little money (the 100 points per Select offer for cat food means less than 1 cent per point).
I'm loathe to split my points between 2 rival airlines as it seems to dilute both but I read this thread every day as it seriously gaining my interest and I feel like Im missing out on some fantastic earning opportunities!
Anyone in a similar boat?
Still hoping someone can give me some advice on this!!
Offers come & go.......as it will with EDR's!
As a QFF member I've watched with a little envy how VA provide upgrades, family pooling, 241 deals, free SC with CC & various other free memberships for status.....the list goes on.
IMO unless you're earning a significant amount of points through CC it's better sticking with the one scheme and maximising points - particularly if you're accumulating points for family trips. For single/couple having multiply memberships may work however, you'd still need to earn a decent amount of points to make it work.
As a family of 4 (5 when the MIL comes along) we need to earn 520K or 650K points for our annual Asian holiday. For some this number is easily achieved however, for the great majority splitting points over schemes doesn't make sense.
I've got my fingers crossed for a great email from the EDR fairies waiting for me when I wake up tomorrow!!
Looks like I'll be in Big W this afternoon, buying some Dunlop DDH golf balls $22.86 (for practice or give aways to clients) and 27 tennis balls (for the dogs and kids) $20 - that will get my wife another 300 bonus points + 12 EDR points and 63 Amex points
