Not when the person receiving the goods is not actually checked against the person that should be receiving the goods....

I have had to show ID every time, I actually use the service so I am not talking hypotheticals or web shots here, it's been very reliable and takes two days to get to Brisbane. And if you don't have an address here, you can always post restante it to the GPO, where all mail needs to be collected with ID!

To be honest I find AusPost to be okay. I usually end up picking things up on a Saturday morning from the post office because there is never anyone home to sign for them.

Neighbours have never accepted a delivery on my behalf. My house is somewhat secluded, so I often ask for bulky items to be left at the door so long as I expect to be home within a day or two. I do this regularly with wine* and have never had any issues.

* not in summer heat

A colleague of mine did that yesterday, except because we're in the summer period here in England... it had been raining so when he picked up the box forgetting the ground being wet would have damaged it 3 bottles fell out and smashed, doh!

And you obviously do not know me very well.

- A shopping voucher that NRMA sent for paying insurance early never arrived. Had to call to get another issued.
- I have not received the 2 Qantas complimentary passes for Amex Premium card. I thought I received them but they are nowhere to be seen. Still haven't called them.
- My brother has ordered DVDs and they leave them on the letter box and people walking past are going to leave there

I really should be trusting of Australia Post but....

And they were all sent by registered mail, which is what my quote was about? I suppose most create their own luck, although having a postie at work who cannot read English makes life interesting and has done for 6 years, which is why I never use the work address for important things.

John we use a Post Office box at our local privately run shop less than 1km from home. It is ultra reliable compared with our home letterbox.
Our local post office gets paid 8 cents to process payments of Australian Taxation Office payments and have to sell gift cards sourced from Australia Post at the full face value.
We went to a Coles in Sydney and used a 5% off Gift Card and a Fly Buys card as it was the closest shop to where we were in the city. I still think Fly Buys is a joke compared to this thread on EDR.

Weekly grocery shopping time... Coles with 5% Staff discount VS WOW with 5% Discounted Wish Cards

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.....

Thank god the flybuys program is inferior so its a pretty easy decision as you know cove...

Shopping all done, some nice specials plus the 5% "wish" discount...Now off to treat myself on some nice wine at "Nobody gets discount here" Dan Murphy's with more of the "wish Card" booty... :p

One evening together in Adelaide was all it took to get you Dan Murphy-ed into discounts Shintaro10x.
We are in Sydney contemplating the smorgasbord at the Intercontinental using my Priority Privilege two dine for the cost of one card. If we do that about 20 times a year that really is value for money.
Now if I convert the Gift Card savings with the savings at the Intercontinental Sydney and the Hyatt in Perth we can do 2 J tickets (on SQ points from the ATO ) Perth to Los Angeles to Perth.
Saving wisely and spending wisely seems to work a treat.

... and don't forget...... 5% off fuel he he, can't remember the last time I paid ~$1.10/L :D

Adelaide Fuel 7/7/12 @ $1.199/L LESS $0.04 voucher (or points) LESS 5% Wish Card Discount = $1.101/L

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction cove...

The Woolies Caltex fuel is a burster so I am really pleased with that one.
It actually changed my fuel buying behaviour. Now claim back the GST and fuel is almost sub one dollar(if you can).

1.19 !?!? That's dropped a long way since I was over less than 2 months ago..

I paid $1.025 yesterday at Gillies Plains. Just had to use that 20cent voucher.

Otherwise, I'm still using my BP gift cards. Got from Melbourne to Mount Barker on 1 tank (60 L) of BP ultimate, with a fully loaded car - 3+2 and a full boot. :D I could have tried for further except SWMBO didn't like the car beeping at me and flashing a range of 0km.

My partner turns white with fear if any car she is in has a fuel warning light coming on even if there is 80 kms range.
I would not try zero for a diesel, a petrol, nor a gas only vehicle so you are very brave to think zero may not mean zero.
Isn't it wonderful that the price of these fuels have started to collapse?
Getting shintaro10x or medhead savings are out there but most won't bother to figure it on EDR system.

Looks like I am really behind - although I am still using my BP cards for fuel, so no chance to use the "cove collect" option

I was forced to do an emergency shop today but will save most of the normal shop and see if I receive an appropriate bonus points offer tomorrow

Shame diesel has dropped by the same margin

I'm hoping for a Big W offer which I can stack with my offer from last Wednesday for spending $50 on Toys.
