Dang! Just got this week's offer of up to 250 points for $30 of vitamins. Problem is, so did partner; so we're both going to be ultra healthy (or if you believe Choice, wasting money on superfluous vitamin supplements!).

I haven't received any booze offers lately which is a shame because my favourite snifter is starting to run low.
save your money. lots of recent controlled studies are suggesting adding vitamins as a supplement are detrimental to your health. taking vitamin e capsules - if you have ever smoked, increases your chances of lung caner 600% - if you doubt me google it.

Mens multi vitamin, zinc, D, fish oil capsules; does that count ;-)

My cardiologist said no to Vitamin E.
It was a yes for me for Fish Oil,Folic Acid and a coated aspirin (Cartia).
Watch out for expensive wee if you take lots of vitamins.

Folic acid is still untested. Supposedly it improves your homocysteine levels and this improves your cardiovascular health. Unfortunately initially studies suggest a supplement makes no difference, where as fresh fruit( rich in folic acid) probably does. Zinc looks good.. Lozenges may help fight the common cold, fish oil is great .. The origin studies looked at using a TABLESPOON of cold liver oil before bed, helped 30% of arthritis suffers and was great to help soften the skin, but you did smell 'fishy' with that volume of oil. No studies looking at the use of capsules to improve health .. Plus it has been calculated that more ' fish oil' capsules etc are sold each year than there are fish in the sea! Presumably a lot of the 'oils' ain't oils . And why are they now flogging krill oil capsules?? Sounds like the old snake oil sellers of the wild west!!

Wow we can get points bonuses as we get "fish oil" capsules that may have come from a dubious supply chain!
I am running low on 5% off gift cards but by Thursday I should be back trying to get 13% retail value off those Australian "evil retail empires" when we add in all the FF points at their redemption value in Business or First.
Actually if the fish oil capsules may be bogus we had better get them for a huge discount from Costco in the US.

Just remember they need to be declared at customs as food, would hate to see you on Border Security getting a lecture!

Never knew that markis10 so thanks for letting me know. I wouldn't like a lecture from Border Security seeing they seem to be busy elsewhere.
Better forget the low,low price or maybe try Costco in Australia (not Perth).
Woolies EDR is behaviour changing but Mrscove ignores the whole thing.
I think she may have too many QF points to really get excited but of course she loves some of the fringe benefits of Qantas and she is so loyal.

Well no troubles with getting 200 Bonus points from Big W this week.

I cone home expecting $20 worth of kids clothing and underpants - no, try $127.85

That'll teach me to let my wife do the shopping :D

No wonder I'm working tomorrow, I have to pay for it all.

And the value of the 200 points? About $2- maybe :-(

I value 200 points at $10+ ...

The more points you have the more value they can be redeemed for.

e.g. 144K points and $500 can be redeemed for a First class one-way transpacific fare - to purchase such may arguably cost from $10.5K.

On the other hand, 8K and $20 may be redeemed for a MEL-SYD economy flight worth $120.

This post is O/T so I shall keep it short.

When you wee out your supplements it means your body has used up as much as it can of given supplement and its final step it being passed through the kidney into the bladder and then out it goes with the urine. For a supplement to enter the urine it must first have been processed and used by the body.

OTOH, if you have a supplement pass through your bowels and out with a bowel movement then it never enters the blood stream and effectively you are flushing your $ down the toilet.

If someone is telling you that you are throwing your money away when you wee out supplements they don't understand how supplements are utilised by the body. Having said this the above explaination is true for supplements that you swallow i.e. capsules, tablets etc or supplements that you eat naturally when you bite into an apple or a steak. Your body processes nutrients the same way regardless of whether you swallow a tablet or eat a healthy meal. You will end up weeing out the supplements your body uses and cr @ping out the supplements your body has not absorbed. Basic physiology.

Back on topic. I received the Vitamins offer this week.

100 bonus points when you buy any hair colour product this week

The small print says "Offer applies to Everyday Rewards cardholder xx_xx_ and can only be redeemed once during the offer period".

But it still doesn't explain whether it's 100 pts for one product or many.

BTW, a hair rinse is cheaper at $4.95
I believe you will get 100 bonus points regardless of how many products you purchase. The offer is fixed for bonus points not tiered for number of products purchased.

Offers for the week

Me - 200 bonus points for spend >$150
Me - double points at Big W for any spend >$30
Mum - 100 bonus points with 2 or more packaged fruit products
Brother - 100 bonus points in fresh seafood department spend >$10
Dad - save up to 70% big brands at Door Buster (strange offer)

Should be some easy bonus points this week.

Just checked the accounts (3 of them) to see whether the bonus points have been posted.

I think I have made a rookie mistake which cost Jnr#1 100 points. The offer was no minimum spend at 2 partner stores. Did the usual local Woolies for the first part, the second had to be BigW or BWS. Didn't think I was going to make the second part, until Jnr#2 needed a lift to the other side of town and I had a couple of hours to kill before returning home. Bingo! Ran straight into a BWS. Grabbed a pack of 3 bottle stoppers for $2.50. Swiped the card, handed over the cash and grabbed the 100 point bottle stoppers. Quite chuffed with myself, I was.

Oh o. No points posted. I think I was so pleased with myself for completing the challenge, hindsight has me thinking; "did he give me a receipt?" I don't think he did. He rung it up on the register and chucked the $2.50 coin in, but .......

Doh!

A note for next time perhaps, often you can buy cheaper items at BWS such as small packet chips / nuts etc... one of my local stores even sells toffee apple lollipops like these for $0.30 a pop. So don't think you have to spend big at BWS if your offer has a no minimum spend...:D

robd, It's a pity you don't have a receipt as BWS are one of the stores who print the EDR number on the receipt regardless of sale total. I know the call center staff usually ask for receipt details but on occasions I have managed to get them to credit points without quoting receipt details, even for transactions under $30. The support staff further up the chain only need a trasnaction date and location to find receipt details. Good luck.

I didn't get any midweek offers either.

It was quite a small BWS and $2.50 from memory, was actually the cheapest useful thing I could find (apart from the obvious in a store like that)!

Well that's the thing, usually I would grab the receipt.
