Mrs Jukebox had a rather dubious hypothetical: if I was offered a $200 for 1000 point bonus at Big W on womenswear, and paid for it using cash and swiped my EDR card, then, 1 week later, took all the items (unused) back to the service counter for a no-questioned-asked-refund, would there be any way those 1000 points could be reversed?

I figured if I used a CC to pay for them, it could haunt me, but using cash (and forgoing those 200-300 points), I would still harvest 1170 EDR points, wouldn't I?

I do love the way my wife thinks! ;)

Your EDR is recorded on the receipt, which is referenced for a refund.

You can lose the normal points...not sure about the bonus points though, since these are separate from the standard points earning system...I'm not sure the system is clever enough to take these bonus points off you, but it will take the standard ones...
I've returned a number of items over the past 12 months and never had bonus points (or regular points) deducted from my EDR (or QFF account if they'd already been posted). Given the people at the Service Counter the receipt and CC used in the transaction. They process refund and I go on my way.

I've gotten refunds on overcharged items at Woolworths a couple of times as well as gotten a refund and replacement items on their fresh food guarantee. I've never been asked to swipe my everyday rewards card during the refund process and have ended up getting all the base points and bonus points for these transactions.

Flybuys is a different story though. Target and Kmart have always asked for the card during refunds and adjustments have appeared on my flybuys account. Coles have only asked for the card once on a refund and I lost a couple of points once the transactions that day were processed.

Just got offer of 1000 points for spending min $275 at WW this weekend on my partner's card. Haven't been using this card lately.

I could be wrong here about the dates. It appears that EDR are giving out the weekend offers early. I have no idea why but I think it's a great idea.

I've just received an offer for 250 points for spending $30 in one transaction between Thursday 1 August and Sunday 4 August. I'll definately be taking this one up. It's a one use offer. Thank you everyday rewards. This is a really good offer for me.

It's a Woolworths offer. I need to go there tomorrow as we are out of Deli meat and milk but I'll only get what I need to get me through and go back later in the week to take up the bonus offer.
