EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

They are trying to entice you with offers outside of your comfort zone.

If they checked your spending patterns and gave you offers you would easily make each week then that would be foolish. Would it not?

Exactly, the whole point of a promo is not to pay out to get you to do something you are already doing. But rather to entice you to do something you would not normally do.

Yes, but they still need to make it a realistic total based on the usual spend. The cards that were sent the offer are used for transactions of $30 to $50 so a target of $60-80 would be reasonable. $120 seems to be a benchmark total for Everyday Rewards but is out of reach for someone who only spends less than $50 in an average transaction.

I have no visibility on the success of their promos but would suggest they have extensive data. While they know how much you spend at WW they don't have the same at other supermarkets, so they may just be trying it on. For all they know you could be spending $150 a week at Coles so it is not as "obvious" as you suggest.

Indeed the fact that people keep getting such offers strongly suggests to me they actually do get some success with such offers and as they say "if you don't try you'll never know"

Several accounts got invited to be part of Woolworths online. 1000 bonus points offered for online orders of $120 or more for the first 5 orders plus free delivery for each of the 5 orders. $120 is more than we would spend instore and I'm not about to spend that online. I only buy catalogue specials plus agreed price groceries online and I couldn't get anywhere near $120 worth of specials in the current catalogue.

I don't think this was very well targeted. The offer didn't take into consideration the usual spend on these cards. If I got 1000 for $30 I might consider it. I don't understand their strategy. I think they'd have more luck getting new online accounts if they offered the same as the December 2013 offer of 2000 points for $30 online spend.

I received the same offer as well.

Below are my EDR totals from 01-Jan this year, not exactly a big spender though the EDR these days so perhaps they want my spend back (as my linked WoW mastercard is mostly used at the much closer Coles these days).

Either way i'll be snapping up 5k free points thanks very much :D

I have received the $10 off for $30 spend two weeks running. Used it last week so not sure why I have received it a second time, but not complaining

One of the family cards got this offer two weeks running as well - was a bit bemused by it, but will accept the offer none the less.;)

Same here, 33% discount on half price specials is a bit of a no brainer.

I think because some members tried using the offer last week and it didn't work, they probably thought best to give everybody the offer again.

Which kind of proves my point, some will be tempted well outside their normal transaction spend, some won't. But it's all good information to better target in the future!

Me - 100 bonus points for $5 spend on canned fish

Wife got this too, so activated. Seems we have 2 weeks to spend $120 online. However I as i understand the deal, we have to spend $120 online in each 2 week period 5 times to get the 5K bonus.

Could be hard, as we are stocked on non-perishables , non special items appear to have a premium when purchased online and I don't trust a WW picker to select fruit, veg and meat to our liking.

Yes, I to received this offer for a second time

Stopped at Woolies on the way home, spent $30.50. Again had to ask for a supervisor as the offer did not automatically appear.
Could be cheeky and try again tomorrow, the last day of the offer.

Whats the EDR email address for putting in a claim for missing points??
When you are logged into your EDR account there is a 'contact us' at the bottom of the page which after clicking on gives a range of options including email for points issues.

I am pretty sure it's 1,000 each time with max use of 5 times.
