EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

My theory is that members who were sent the Cash for Christmas offer won't receive a coupon book.
I think that anyone who didn't get the Cash for Christmas offer will get the coupon book.
If anyone got both or neither please let me know. It's only a theory. I'm happy to be corrected. Still waiting on my coupon books in the mail.
I got both, but didn't activate the Cash offer.

Looks like my theory is wrong but it was worth having a go. Congratulations to all those who got both the coupons and the Cash for Christmas offer. Thanks QF WP for posting the various offers and whatmeworry for the terms and conditions. It sounds like some people who didn't get the paper coupons will get similar offers over 6 weeks by email.

I'm guessing EDR are testing different ways of sending out offers to see which types of offers and delivery methods gets them the best results. Flybuys did a bit of this type of testing in the last coupon run. Some people were sent paper coupons to advise them of what offers were coming up but they didn't have to present the coupons at the transaction. The offers were actually loaded to the card. EDR are just trying to figure out what is the cheapest promotional tactic that will give them the best reward. My philosophy is to get the best reward out of all the reward companies just by spending only what I want to spend.

I'm not fussy - I just want meaningful offers a plenty.

Especially when there are half price specials that can be loaded up on!

The family coupon books finally arrived. We should be able to use some of the coupons each week. I'll just have to work carefully on the best strategy and a way of remembering who got what coupon. I'll report in more detail once I figure things out.

You ask markis10, I deliver (well I didn't dump them all). Mrs QF WP got these overnight and she is the highest spend card ATM, mine is having a rest as no offers (well I haven't checked my emails yet):

I received a very similar email although my BWS offer is500 points for $30 spend. I've never shopped at BWS and am unsure whether to do so. 500 points is a nice earn, but I've always avoided BWS as I wanted my EDR offers to focus on Woolies and Big W.

Natalie_B, buy Mr Natalie_B some alcohol for Xmas (as I presume you are still not drinking much still) so he can numb the pain of all the offers you're going to use :D

BWS currently has 30% off 6 or more bottles of wine.

I've examined the coupon books and figured out a rough strategy for our family.

The weekly coupons from the various books range between 500 points for $60, 300 points for $50, $5 off for $50 and $5 off for $60. We'll use the $5 off for $50 coupons. No need to spend an extra $10 just to get the same amount off. We'll use the Week 1 500 points for $60 as there are lots of specials I like in the current catalogue but I don't know if we'll use the week 3 and week 5 coupons.

We'll use all of the Gold coupons, probably with single item transactions at the self serve when we do top up shopping for things like Deli items and milk.

We got an interesting collection of product based coupon for deli, meat, fruit and veg, beauty, cheese, frozen, confectionary, and bakery. The best of these are 15% off $10 of fruit and veg, 20% off $10 of Bakery and 15% off $15 of Frozen goods. I'm not sure which product based coupons we'll use as even the one's I've mentioned are slightly above our usual spend. The Deli ones were all double or more of what we would spend in one transaction.

The coupons can be stacked but be very careful doing this. If you are stacking a points coupon with a percentage discount coupon make sure that the final transaction total is above your target amount after all the EDR and coupon reductions. I have no idea how a $5 off coupon and a percentage discount coupon will work together. I'd be interested in feedback on this one. My aim is to stick as close to the minimum targets as possible but still get the maximum discount overall.

I don't think we'll be using the online coupons. My partner already has an online account so his offer was 1000 points for $150 spend (way too high for us). The other offer was 1000 points for a $50 spend but I'd need to set up another new online account and this might create a few problems for us. My reading of the coupons is that you could stack the week 1,3 or 5 coupons with the online only coupon as they have coupon codes on them and you can use two coupon codes in each order. Good luck to those who want to try it. I think you could also stack the week 2,4 or 6 coupons as well with the online coupon provided you made sure the final total was above the right target.

Good luck everyone. Have fun with the coupons. Let us know if you figure out any useful coupon combinations.

Put intials of each person on all their coupons or anonymous 1, 2 3.

Hahaha, good suggestion. It's probably the only offer I'll use up, so maybe we will both drink to that!

Just got spend $200 for 1000 points. While I'd like 1000 points. I've never spent even close to $200, and I'm not about to start.

There's not even enough space in the house to be stocking up on anything

We got a collection of offers which have to be used by Sunday and can't be stacked with any of the coupons due to timing.
250 points for $50 shop at Woolworths
500 points for $80 shop or 750 points for a $120 shop at Woolworths

We won't be taking up either offer as it's not as good as the offer we'll take up Monday of 500 points for $60.

Assuming you have a similar WOW offer to me, then things like nappies & Karicare Gold (both when on special) and the food squeezies will go a long way to a $150 shop. My youngest turned 5 last week, so I should be dropping off the WOW radar for these kinds of offers :o ;)

Yep, my WOW offer was $150 for 1000 pts, but it's an online only shop. We get our nappies at Costco so we don't need to buy as often (and it's cheaper!), and formula was a great product for point hauling. I have just cleared out a shelf in the kitchen, so I could do it, but I think Mr Natalie had an online shop offer for 2000 pts so I should probably check his offer expiry date first ;)
