EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

/checks EDR account..

My points for fuel seem to be transferring fine. Even a few days ago.

I never pay at the pump though (well I don't have the card anyway). I always go inside to pay, so I can AMEX it @ 1.5 points per buck instead of 1.

I used to like pay at the pump if I was fuelling the bike, but it only works for their own cards.

Still, I'm thinking of getting a WW card so I can get 1 point per $, where they don't take AMEX. NAB is only 2 points per $3 on the VISA. I have to do the maths so see if it's worth the $89 annual fee.

I have the WW EDR Mastercard and usually pay with that. Come to think of it, the only recent transaction for which I have earned points is the one I paid in store. I did a small top-up fill today of 10L and paid in store to see if those points post. Either way, I have evidence of heaps of 8cpl vouchers, and email receipts so I will pursue the missing points.

Just use Gmail aliases under your own address. As far as the EDR system is concerned, it is a different address.
Using an address alias - Gmail Help

e.g. if your address is [email protected] enter [email protected] into EDR. It will be delivered to [email protected] but you will be able to see which address it was sent to if you wish.

That’s a really good tip, thanks!

Though wish I’d known in the past when I created 5 different gmail addresses and set each to forward to one :p

Well, transactions were processed onbiously over night, but they have got them wrong in the transfer to QFF:

Not sure if I like them combining Woolwoths transactions into QFF, took me a minute to work that out. Where are the 2 bonus offer points (350 + 250) that I achieved EDR :-|

it's weird. some of my BWS bonus points are automatically added so that $40 carton of beer is 10 FFP and it shows as 260pts and other times it is 2 different items 10pts and then 250pts .. i have no idea how it is organised

drross, I don't think they have any idea either. The transaction lines that have been missing on mine "Point transferred to QFF" have now started to re-appear, after being MIA for the past 2 months.

They really must need some help on the IT side...*shakes head*

My wife is getting the hang of this EDR bonus point chasing ;). Just arrived back with some groceries for tonights dinner and replacing things we had finished, using her EDR card. That should hopefully trigger a bonus offer for her in Mondays emails. Whilst no general bonuses from the catalogue this week (see other thread dedicated to it), She is slowly coming around to the chasing bonus points - although she is not having as much fun as me :D

OT; has anyone else noticed how many 'Woolworths Select' brands are on the shelf now days?

WOW put their own "Select Brand" in the premium spaces on the shelf now and they always make sure that their product is cheaper than whatever else there is to choose from. In 5 years time, we'll be like Tesco's with only fruit + veg and meat that will be not their 'Select Brand'.

I only mention this because today l was shopping for household items I don't usually buy, but so far l (off the top of my head) have now seen WOW branded - tuna, toilet spray, tomato sauce, some frozen items, bread, milk, sour cream, chips (various types), juices, pasta, pasta sauce, tomato paste, coconut milk/cream, dish washing concentrate, sponges......

So, when you shop, do you buy the WOW Select brand (because it's usually cheaper), or the usual brand (i.e., Dolmio pasta sauce?)

Good weekend for me. 2 offers, First buy 2 slabs and get 250 points, 2nd spend $ 150 and get 300 points./ Had a family party today so was going to buy grog anyway. Saw Yellow @ $ 6.56 per bottle so bought a dozen. Spent $ 167 and ended up with a total of 997 points using my AMEX kard.
Not too shabby I thought.
Funny how these offers seem to keep koming when you respond and buy

This has been a process that has been going on for a few years now. A couple of years ago, Woolworths and Coles took a knife to the number of brands they were carrying, and in most cases now there are only one or two name brand items in any category, together with the home brand items. In some cases, they seem to have started importing some of their own 'branded' goods as well.

There are a few problems with all that, but as far as the question raised goes, in some cases it was my preferred brand that got the chop. I still find that once you get outside the basics, the quality of the name brand tends to be better, but the home brand products have improved from where they are. So, basic items, I will tend to go with the home brand. Other items, less so.

Went shopping on the way home today and took my daughters EDR barcode in with me (as her card hasn't arrived yet).

No problems with scanning it, so let's see if that starts to trigger offers for her.

Going to DSE before COB Wed for a new GPS and another cable for the Blue Ray (into the TV). Guess I'd better scan my sons' card to trigger promos for him.

I’m not sure about Coles, but with WW it then gets to the point where you have a choice of Home Brand (ie. the cheapest possible) or Select… or the brand name you’ve known and loved for years. I find quite a lot of the Select product is actually pretty good :)

Not so much Home Brand.

Funnily enough I did an essay on this situation in my Marketing 100 exam many years ago!

You don't want to hear me rant on this.............

The packaging looks the same as other brands
The price is always cheaper than other brands
It always goes at the premum shelf height
Other brands dissapear and you have to buy the Select brands

I NEVER purchase select brands EVER :evil:

Today I bought a $500 Woolworths Gift Card for $475 and paid for it on my Citi Select Visa to earn 633 Kris Flyer points using the RACWA website member number. RACQ has the same deal running it seems.
So at Woolies you get your EDR barcode scanned then pay off the purchase with the gift card.
You can get $100,$250 and $500 cards to suit your needs and they take Visa and MasterCard.

Have to buy nappies tomorrow as I've nearly run out of one of the sizes we use. Hope an offer will come tomorrow morning for Big W.

On the topic of Woolworth's homebrand and select products, I have found that if the major brands are on special, they are often cheaper than the select brand, based on unit price. I have tried some homebrand products. Some are good quality and some are poor quality. I don't usually buy the select products as I wait for my favourite brands to go on special. If the brands I want aren't on special I go without or I try the homebrand or select option.

Thankyou to the members who offered insight into the junior family member QFF/EDR cards subject.

Does anyone know if the gift card offer mentioned in a couple of previous posts is available to RACV members and how it works exactly?

Rainbowgirl I could not find it on RACV site but the best idea would be to call them.

Offers coming early this week for me, tonight, first up is BWS… but I have 3 cases of beer in the cellar already, a sore throat and I’ve been sober for 3 weeks!! I don’t think another 2 cases are worthwhile for only 300 bonus points, but I’m sure they know I’m not shopping!

300 bonus points
When you buy any 2 cases of beer over this week

I’ve actually seen Select brands more expensive than name brands when the name brands have a small sale, so it’s frequently a choice for me.
