EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

I have had 3 cards for family members :p since June 2009

I have only every got the "we missed you" offers which work quite well for me as living alone (most of the time) I don't have a need for a big shop that often. I have a few discounted offers on selected items which are relevant to me.....

I tend to get a "we missed you" offer each week which is due to rotating the cards..

I have started to buy alcohol and scan my EDR card so will see what that does.. I used to shop at Dan Murphys'....

I have added my most recent family member :p with a new EDR card. Receiving the welcome email but not even a "please come in and use your card" offer yet.

Shintaro10x, do you have each of your family EDR cards linked to different email addresses or all to the same? Just curious as my kids who have EDR accounts linked to my email address never get offers, yet my wife and I do.

I am a player... no messing around here...!

All Junior members have their own email address...!

Seeing we are on the topic of junior members and targetted offers, I'll ask this on a public thread rather than wait until I have enough posts to send private messages. Do EDR have the dates of birth for the junior members? I can't remember if this is a compulsory question on the online application or an optional one. I'm wondering if EDR know they are sending out "we miss you" offers to children. I am contemplating signing my children up to EDR and QFF so the questions I have are relevant to me. What do you do with the points earned by junior members? Do you do a family transfer once the points reach 5000 or do you wait until family holidays and hope each child has enough points to fly free?

On the email subject I would probably use my email address for all three accounts. I have heard of couples who use the same email address for both people and offers come to each member of the couple on a regular basis. Of course I have also heard of cases where neither member of the couple gets offers, or one gets more than the other. Thanks in advance for your help.

EDR should have their dates of birth recorded. Some offers, such as liquor offers, are not appropriate for under age folk, therefore they need to have the DOB.

Thanks for that. You are indeed in the big league when it comes to EDR's. I am a little in awe of the volume of offers you seem to generate.

What do you do with the points earned by junior members?

Combine them with points accumulated from flying, then family transfer once per calendar year...

Tip: good to get junior members on QFF early for the LTS earnings...!

do we need a new category of FF membership for this site??? junior member, member, expert shopper or EDR royalty??:D

Well this will be interesting. My wife and I use my personal email address and have been getting offers - but not to the extent of shintaro10x.

I have used that personal address also for my kids, but I think using the card first will trigger offers, rather than waiting for the "we miss you".

So when I get the cards, I'm going to go buy some cheap things in Woolies and Big W, using the self check out in Woolies.

My wife would find my sons EDR card this morning after I've already requested a replacement card .

Had better go and check that my kids ' EDR accounts have unchecked the alcohol offers

+1. The way I sweep all the points across to my account is:

1. Transfer 5K from my account to spouse (if her balance is less than 5K points)
2. Transfer full balance to child number 1
3. Transfer full balance to child number 2
4. Transfer full balance to me

This worked perfectly last year, ended up sweeping 13K back to me. You would insert additional steps if you have more than 2 children...

Or in light of Lindsay's last post. EDR/FF expert. But what a great system. I'll have to remember that one. Thanks

I now have 3 cards. And used them today individually for the Cadbury comp (only allowed one entry per person per day, but I'm not too sure about buying three blocks of chocolate per day for 8 weeks, I'd have to put Mrs VC in the cargo hold next flight!).

All on individual email addresses of course, so looking forward to getting more targetted offers.

:p

/checks email. Again.

"there are no new messages on the server"

:(

I'm no expert, there are always things I'm learning from the more experienced here - looks over at shintaro10x.

:o :D I'm going to start buying selectively, but likewise have to remember our health is more important than a promo

I might consider gmail addresses for the kids if I'm not getting offers in a month

we all learning here... after all that's what sites like this is all about...!

Exactly. I can't wait to get multiple offers and be at the Woolies or Big W self service check-out, scanning to the next $30 basket of goods, scanning the correct EDR card and paying; then doing it all again.

I'm sure there will be looks, but I don't care. :D:D

Has anyone had any points for fuel transfer into their EDR account? Mine seems to have stopped since 16th January.
My voucher disappears out of the available vouchers as soon as I fill up, but then a few days later it comes back, and then expires once the expiry date is reached.

I've complained, and will wait to see what the outcome is.

I was having that problem using pay at the pump, worked with discount but QFF did what you said, now paying in store.

/checks EDR account..

My points for fuel seem to be transferring fine. Even a few days ago.

I never pay at the pump though (well I don't have the card anyway). I always go inside to pay, so I can AMEX it @ 1.5 points per buck instead of 1.

I used to like pay at the pump if I was fuelling the bike, but it only works for their own cards.

Still, I'm thinking of getting a WW card so I can get 1 point per $, where they don't take AMEX. NAB is only 2 points per $3 on the VISA. I have to do the maths so see if it's worth the $89 annual fee.

I might consider gmail addresses for the kids if I'm not getting offers in a month

Just use Gmail aliases under your own address. As far as the EDR system is concerned, it is a different address.
Using an address alias - Gmail Help
Using an address alias
Gmail doesn't offer traditional aliases, but you can receive messages sent to [email protected]. For example, messages sent to [email protected]are delivered to [email protected].

You can set up filters to automatically direct these messages to Trash, apply a label or star, skip the inbox, or forward to another email account.

e.g. if your address is [email protected] enter [email protected] into EDR. It will be delivered to [email protected] but you will be able to see which address it was sent to if you wish.
