EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

Everyday Rewards is being rebranded and QFF points are being removed.
Rebranding by the end of October.
Points are either being removed at the same time or by the end of the year.

So, what will the points offer then? I wonder if the credit card Qantas points will be next to go.

I know that this is an unusual question for this forum but it's a valid question for many members of QFF who only got the membership because of the partnership with EDR. What will happen to the QFF accounts which only have a few hundred points in them at the time of the changes? If these members will no longer be able to earn QFF points via EDR, how will they get any value out of the points they have. Under the current QFF auto rewards system you need 750 points to redeem a $5 gift card.

They would simply lapse because of inactivity.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I've never earned many QFF points through EDR and had never redeemed anything - was looking at it a few months ago and had about 7,000 points so was looking to (eventually!) get enough to redeem a $50 Wish Gift Card which I'm sure was around 7,600 points ... but looking at it today it's about the 8,800 mark?? But if the system is changing, I won't reach that total in any case - so have redeemed a $25 Wish card from the Qantas store, but there's no option to redeem for smaller $ values for ANYTHING for the points I have left over, so signed up for the Auto Rewards option offered through the EDR page as the next auto redemption date is 1 November and should get a $15 e-card out of that. It's not much, but better than the points going to waste I guess!

I guess this is still just pure speculation. I can't find any news evidence on the web that the changes we knew were coming will actually come before the end of the year.
Fairly simple to fix that if the points are in your family.

Transfer 5,000 QFF points from your account to family member 1, then transfer from family member 1 to family member 2 and then transfer from family member 2 to family member 3 and then transfer from family member 3 back to you with all QFF points in all accounts.

Got a 'we miss you offer' on one of my cards - spend $50 for a measly 200 points. Card had been used day before utilising a more generous spend $30 for 250 points offer!

If QFF points are about to be stopped it might be best to take everything you can.

Not sure about this - only EDR seems to be on the verge of not providing them. There are plenty of other ways to obtain QFF points. :p

There are... but EDR is the only thing that has stopped my QF points expiring for the last few years. It's cheap and easy.

Oh wait... maybe that's behind it???

Wouldn't the QF toolbar be a much simpler way of keeping a QF account active?

Dad - 200 bonus points for $50 spend

Too easy. Thank you.

If QFF points are no longer an option then I can have a little peace and quiet. Mum can just go back to normal shopping and accumulate discounts on her terms.

Very poor decision from Woolworths though if that's what they decide.

Double points only for me this week.

Ignored it...

In other news - i received my 'bonus' points of 1000 for my inconvenience. SO at least that is something...

Mrs Ralph received 5000 'bonus' points for some recent problems...seems they have lots of extra points to get rid of at the moment.

Got a reply re: my missing 244 points. Credited to my account in 5 days apparently. I've kept the email to follow up when it doesn't happen.

As for QFF ending with EDR, it'll make me head back to Coles.

but Coles is more expensive :( Specials aside - we have Coles/Woollies side by side - Coles is cheaper on some dairy, but is up to 80c-$1 more (per item) on other products.

I guess YMMV, but pocketing the savings in a piggy bank each week would get you the fastest seat redemption of any program world-wide!

People local to me swear that Coles is cheaper. I think I really need to do a comparison on same products. Coles is more convenient for me to visit. We'll see.

I think it depends on what you buy.

In my experience they are usually very similar.

Or buying at better than 50% off specials at whatever store offers them is my preferred for most staples. A large walk-in-pantry (aka bulk storage!) allows great savings. That and a separate freezer.

Certain items normal price is cheaper at Coles while other items are cheaper at WoW. A cynic would say this smacks of collusion - but I wouldn't suggest that!
