EK Lounge General Discussion

I can’t seem to find any information reported on this (maybe it was obvious and I missed it). It appears the emirates lounge in BKK is permanently closed. I was only here a couple months ago and it was fine. All the signs for the lounge are blacked out across the airport and the lounge is closed. Had a peak through the window. Furniture still there but can tell it’s not looking like it will be open again soon. Does anyone know why?

Emirates SIN lounge now opens 2:25pm.

The are opening for an afternoon flight to PNH scheduled 5:25pm.

I quite like this lounge, and now that I am falling back to SG will probably use it over the zoo I have usually found in the QF J lounge for evening flights to AU.

I had my 1st experiences with DXB First lounges last week.

Outward journey had me in the B gates lounge. Showers are remarkably small and toilets are located across the corridor in another facility. They make the QF dom lounges in SYD look good. Food was great during 1-3am timeslot. I had the seared scallops followed by the Wagyu steak. The French patisseries looked amazing but for some reason I forgot that calories in airports don’t count.

Return journey had me leaving from the A gates. Showers are better (missing tap pieces so some guesswork required to operate), lounge almost deserted (6-8am) and boarding from the lounge (unlike other gate lounges). Eggs Royale was a winner. The feeling of isolation in this lounge is a welcome relief after managing the transfer from C to A gates. I think no more than 15 people joined me for this lounge onto the A380.
