The to be discontinued EK404, the 1025 hours midmorning SIN down to MEL pointed skywards at 1108 hours. Gate arrival at 2013 hours, 38 late for B773ER A6-ENG is the likely scenario.

A388 A6-EVR on EK412, the 1015 hours midmorning DXB-SYD on Wednesday 2 October was in the sky at 1407 hours. SYD arrival on Thursday 3 became 0909 hours, 184 minutes late. The second sector to CHC is timetabled for a 0750 hours departure but this is optimistically suggested as becoming 1030: 1045 or later is more likely. The timetable allows for a stay of four hours and 50 minutes at CHC so hopefully the return CHC-SYD-DXB EK413 will be punctual.

This aircraft usually forms EK417, the 2110 hours back to Dubai so it's likely to be at least slightly late in pushing back tonight mid evening.

EK416 is about to arrive in SYD (ex DXB) at 1928, 68 minutes late. Aircraft is A380 A6-EEF.

The crew would've only been flying the CHC-SYD leg, so they might've been ok?

EK413 from SYD-DXB will be delayed with no chance of departing tonight.

I wonder if they could do a record turnaround and get the incoming EK414 to do the EK413 service rather than its usual EK415. EK414 lands at 22:07 though !

Looks like the incoming EK414 will indeed do the outbound EK413 (EK414 landed at gate 10 with EK413 also departing out of gate 10).

Interestingly, Emirates website has EK413 departing SYD at 23:45 doing a diversion and arriving into MEL at 1:10 with a 2:55 departure out to DXB. Must be short fueling in SYD to save time and doing the long refuel for the long slog back to DXB.

Quick thinking on the EK team's part - pretty impressive they also got dispensation for a 2345 departure.

They also probably have spare resourcing in MEL with the EK405 MEL-SIN departing at 0305.

Indeed, it would've been more impressive had they managed to go via BNE instead and pick up the CHC originating passengers on EK413 who had divert there. Although some of them may have been accomodated on the EK435 service out of BNE.

Good to see the authorities using common sense and granting dispensation for this weather related delays.
