Emirates Delays/Cancellations

On Monday 24 October, EK404 (2240 hours Sunday 23 from SIN down to MEL, A380 A6-EUC) is arriving at 1001, 71 minutes late.

For a second consecutive day, EK404 is late, with Tuesday 25 October arrival of this SIN - MEL flight expected at 1041 instead of 0850. A6=EOI is the A380.

Thursday 27 October 2016 has seen EK406, the 0810 hours from MEL to AKL take off at 0851. A380 A6-EDO should arrive at 1428, 43 minutes behind time.

The Monday 31 October arriving in MEL EK404 (A380 A6-EOU) should do so at 0950 hours, exactly an hour behind schedule from SIN where it had been meant to depart on Sunday evening at 2240 but instead took off at 0008 this morning.

The morning of Saturday 5 November has seen SYD reduced to using just runway 25 with departures to the west.

This has resulted in many delays with EK418, the 1040 hours SYD - BKK departing at 1122. Arrival is suggested as 31 minutes late at 1626.

To answer your question about A380 and Rwy25,

EK418 A380 operating the tag flight departed SYD from RWY25. For a short "hop" less fuel is required and patronage is usually not a full cabin. So TOW would be at the lower end

Monday 7 November 2016 sees EK434, the 1025 Sunday 6 from DXB that took off at 1316 arriving in BNE at a suggested 0805 hours, 85 late with A380 A6-EEM.

The 1015 hours Friday 11 November EK412 from DXB to SYD (A380 A5-EDC) took off at 1233. On Saturday 12 it should arrive at about 0825, 85 minutes behind schedule. The 0845 hours departure of its ongoing 'tag flight' to CHC will become 1010 or similar, one of the risks in using EK across the Tasman.

The Friday 18 November arrival of EK408 ex DXB should occur at around 0035 hours, 45 minutes late. Aircraft is B773ER A6-ECA.

EK on Friday 25 November afternoon commented to the media that it had not been affected by the 30 per cent reduction in jet fuel availability in MEL due to imported fuel from Sinagpore not being to specifications.

However tonight that is no longer the case, with EK407, the scheduled 2230 hours departure to DXB altered to operate via PER for a fuel stop.

If logic is in evidence, QF9 will do the same.

With a very high 88 millimetres of rain in BNE on Saturday 26 November (at the airport, but not the city - showing how localised rain can be) between 0615 and 0830, many flights have been delayed in their departure, with delays increasing due to many having to queue for takeoff.

EK434, the scheduled 0825 hours BNE - AKL (A380 A6-EDA) still had not moved from its gate as at 0926 AEST, so it wil be at least 40 minutes late into the NZ major city.

Last nights (3 Dec 16) EK435 from AKL to BNE was diverted to SYD just before arrival due to rolling storms. This saw it land in BNE at 22:14 (scheduled for 18:50).
Subsequently, EK435 from BNE to DXB departed at 00:21 (scheduled for 20:45) and is expected into DXB 7:41 local time (usually 5:10) (4 Dec 16).

Might be a positive to that....should be after the fog in Dubai.

MrP's EK flight had an aborted landing yesterday with fog in Dubai.

You abort take offs. Approaches that you don't finish are go-arounds.

In any event, I wonder why it was discontinued? Minima for the CAT III is 0 feet, and 75 metres visibility...

MrP's flight had a go-around yesterday due to fog. :p
Not sure of any more details but will find out later.

The Sunday 4 December EK418 (1930 hours BKK - SYD) did not take off until 2127 hours. On Monday 5, A380 A6-EEG is unlikely to arrive until 1009, 69 minutes late. This aircraft is then scheduled to depart from SYD across the Tasman at 1040, so expect it to do that at around 1150 or later.

The systems are such that once you actually get to start a Cat IIIB approach, there's about a 99% chance that you'll be able to complete it, so going around off one is very unusual. My bet would be ATC, because of the actions of another aircraft. Perhaps too slow to get off the runway. That sort thing anyway.

On Tuesday 6 December, EK412 from DXB (A380 A8_EUJ) should arrive in SYD 78 minutes late at 0818 hours. As this aircraft then proceeds across the ditch to CHC with a scheduled 0845 hours departure, expect that to depart at around the 1005 mark.
