Where did you send your email? I called today and read out that link over the phone and he said he will get it looked into and get back to me next week....

A good result for me - followed the link provided for 20k points - points credited to QF today.

However, MrsB who was targetted for 15,000 points, is having problems as her faxed applications were "never received" (3x) and was at that time advised to do an online application (apparently a no no).

phone call today - apology for the error but some of the links did not register - points will post ASAP - friend from work got the same call

So how long has it been between application and points credit? I am up to about week 5 now with no joy (T&Cs say up to 8 weeks)

Very quick for me. Points came with the first statement by the looks of it.

Have your points posted yet? We applied pretty much the day the email was sent out in Feb but didn't receive our card until after Easter. If they haven't posted with the new statement (that should take it to about 5 weeks) I might call and battle them.

Just got my statement. They credited 6000 bonus points. Obviously 5000 plus the bonus 1000 for having the "new" silver card (platinum?)

One a side note, my wife's secondary card turned up. Not silver, but the old orange colour. But still with the word "platinum" printed on it. Fail.

Rang customer service. They said they will "look into it" and get back to me within one or two days. So I guess I'll be chasing them up on Friday afternoon, haha.

I have said it here somewhere before, but I think the Silver card actually looks "cheaper" than the original orange one, one of my friends showed me their silver one and it was most underwhelming...

Well, it's Monday and no phone call. Did I really think they were going to call me back? No.

So another phone call, and now they want me to forward the email which contained the offer.

Naturally, I will be sending the link only as the email containing the offer was sent to my wife's EDR account, but nowhere does the T&Cs say the offer is targetted.

Say tuned.

Just PDF or screenshot the website and send it and you'll be fine.

They just rang me, and advised they were crediting 15K points next statement.
And debiting the $89
I'm happy.

On hold to EDR now - surprise surprise only 5000 points were credited!
I'm going to have a longer battle than most I reckon coz the primary cardholder is a Woolworths limited employee - and thus gets the first year annual fee waived anyway. Any bets that they say we can have one or the other?

Hope they fixed their system for new applications. 6 phone calls later and I still don't have my bonus points. Useless.

Out of interest, for someone who never flies Qantas, what would 20K points get you in terms of redemption? Would it be enough for 1 return MEL-ADL flight booked 3 months out?

Yes, 8,000 points each way + taxes.

Do you gusy think paying taxes is better value on those award flights or we should use the points to pay the taxes? I am referring to domestic award flights on QFF.

Depends if you are points rich or not. Some people have millions of points so paying taxes with points is better than spending cash for them... if you're not points rich then paying taxes with cash is probably better. Best to do the maths yourself on your own circumstances.
