Anyone else had this issue?

I just bought some PC hardware from an online shop (time to upgrade my poor old graphics card!), and the merchant emailed to tell me that the card comes up as a foreign card in their system - a US card to be specific (I then had to provide some more verification).

Very strange. I've bought several items on-line, both locally and overseas, and this hasn't happened. It seems to to suggest the problem with the merchant.

Yes, I had this problem when I made a purchase from pccasegear. I had to send them a photo of the back of the card showing the words "issued by HSBC Bank Australia" before they'd authorise the transaction.

Hi All,

I Got a letter asking me to fax over a payslip which i have done, but does anyone know if this means i am approved or they just wanted to see a payslip?

Any idea on how long the process takes from now?

Thanks

Adam

Same place I ordered from :)

Sounds like what a lot of places call 'provisional approval'. I guess that means that they have approved you given the information you have given to them. They now want to see proof of the info you have given - thus the payslip. Once they process that, providing there are no anomalies, I'd expect full approval.

As for how long it will take - at a complete guess, up to 21 days seems common for these types of institutions.

Received a call regarding a large birthday pressie purchase but it went to message bank as I was on the phone.
When I called there was considerable validation done to prove who I was and the card was then unblocked for use.I actually appreciate that someone is watching and checking with the card user for unusually large transactions.
I love the point a dollar deal!
It does change my behaviour.

I've had my card a few weeks now, only managed to activate it a week ago though. Have spent my first money on it and paid my first bill (the transfer from the other card) but I haven't seen the 16 000 points in my QFF account. How long does that take to show up?

At the date of the statement -- one month.

In my case, the first purchase was made on 25th February. The 16,000 points credited into QFF account on 23rd March. So, about 4 weeks for me. :)

Okay thanks, so something should show up this month by rights.

OK, so its been a few weeks since a booze offer for bonus points, previous record was for offers seven weeks in a row...

So after two weeks on the wagon I received and already used the following: -

View attachment 1974

Usually like the Jack's but could not resist the 1125ml White label Jim Beam for $45...:p Usually $57...!

So for a $45 spend on the EDRQCC plus the standard & bonus points earns an easy 300 points

Plus the joy of drinking the stuff...!

Note: the bar was looking light on for the spirits but I kind of knew I'd get an email from Woolworths today. Been caught before buying Booze on a Sunday only to find an extra days wait will often earn some points... For me, these offers ALWAYS come on a Monday, so I rarely buy booze until Monday or Tuesday.

I've never had a booze offer, after three weeks of "spend $x, get y points", this week I get a "spend $x in the deli, get y points" offer. At least I'm still getting offers :)

I seem to get one every 2 weeks but occasionally weekly. Mine tend to be spend x dollars get y bonus points. I get the odd 300 points for a BWS spend. They seem to track your shopping preferences and tailor the offers accordingly. They always make me an offer I can't refuse.

I don't seem to get anything. I've stopped spending on this card now - hopefully that will kick the back end engine into spitting me a bonus offer or two :)

Some interesting posts being made - let me share some experiences.

I applied and got WWEDRCC Sept - used it only once to get the bonus points and put it away. I receive one offer - spent $150 I think in WW liquor and got 3 or 4 or 500 bonus points cannot exactly remember and cannot be bothered logging in to check.

Cruiserette applies for hers and gets it right on Xmas - uses it once - inside a week receives an offer. She takes up offer - and then regularly receives another offer - I would say every week - and I receive no offers. She keeps spending - keep earning bonus points.

I phone WWEDRCC and ask them WTF - their answer - cannot give you an answer - offer generation is totally random.

This I cannot believe - I would say they closely monitor and track offer acceptance and redemption - but I might be wrong.

Lo and behold - a week after I call - offers start coming again - I can generally use them and get full amount of points offered - but still this card and WW actions are just a little difficult to fathom.

Come on Coles - come on DJ alliance - just cannot wait.

In regards to this card, which I still can’t get, even though it’s been months since I applied, when I log into EDR it still says I have an active CC application in my profile… which is odd as I’d have thought they’d have declined me by now.

I'd be calling them - not the easiest task in the world to perform - but if you are patient you will eventually get through.

A few weeks ago I was questioning the value of this card - with 3 offers in last 3 weeks all of which I have taken up - I now intend to keep it.

Best $ spend / pt earn rate I have had so far was $60 for 300pts - $1 = 5pts - plus 1.5pts/$1 using the AMEX to pay for the offer.

I tried that, and got an offer the day I arrived in Europe for a 2 1/2 week holiday (with the promo being for one week). Not used my card since (that was 3 1/2 weeks ago) and no promos at all.

They must not like me much, or they're data mining based on my Amex I use to buy all my groceries, and know i'm still shopping there anyway so they don't care!

I want more bonii. I've had very very few :(

How come everyone's getting offers? I've had my card since January and haven't a single sniff of an offer. Zilch. I use it regularly and a couple of times a month max it out.
