Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

their phone numbers are listed. i would just call ahead.

So you've received an offer for 10 cents off and there is no simple method to find where they are, and in our case there are none within at least a 10km radius?

Is that a 'true' offer or a bait offer designed to mislead/lure customers into a transaction with no hope of receiving the advertised benefit?

With your solution you first have to find a list of Caltex stations, then find their respective phone numbers and then you have to spend time ringing them until you find one that does not have a Star Shop or Star Mart. After the first 4 - how many more should you reasonably be expected to keep ringing?

Pretty simple you go to Woolworth's petrol locator and it lists the WW sites leaving out the Caltex sites.

Just in case that is too hard I have put in Randwick for you.

You have a bee in your bonnet about bait advertising, but this information is readily available. Perhaps instead of calling use the WW website

Just in case that is too hard I have put in Randwick for you.

Thanks drron,

I do know the Randwick one and that is ineligible. 2nd one I visited on the quest.
You may not have read the op detailing I had done all that and there appears to be no way to differentiate between a Caltex outlet that has a Star Mart, or a Star Shop to one that has none.

Or at least I could not find a way to identify an eligible "local Caltex Woolworths store". The four nearest must not be "your local Caltex Woolworths store".

FYI - one of the web sites has the nasty habit of throwing in the W shops when you pressed the 'search' a second tine WITHOUT having ticked the supermarkets box for some reason.

Perhaps you have solved this quandary and can search for Caltex outlets WITHOUT either a Star Shop or Star Mart?

I am always happy to learn.

...perhaps you have also a solution for finding outlets that neither have a Star Shop nor Star Mart?

As I said in response to your first post, use the Woolworths Fuel app.

That possibly could solve it. As luck would have it - there is not one for Nokia/Microsoft smart phones running on Windows.

Can you provide a screen shot from the app showing the closest ones to Randwick as above?

depends how badly you want the discount i guess. there is always google street view which shows they type of servo.

Which brings the offer into the direct statutory realm of bait advertising.

We have provided you the method, the fact you choose to ignore it is your prerogative.

The Woolworths search page allows you to filter between the Caltex Woolworths sites and the Caltex sites that accept the Woolworths rewards

https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/StoreLocator

It won't show Caltex sites that don't accept Woolworths rewards so there is your answer.

No it is not 42.

Sorry mannej but you are incorrect. This has nothing to do with accepting Woolworths rewards - I do not know where you got that idea?

The sites it shows as my local stores all either have a Star mart or a Star shop - as someone else suggested have a look at the Google street photos of them. All the 'local' outlets are ineligible as they either have a Star Mart or Star Shop.

It is nothing to do with Woolworths Rewards - perhaps you have not read the email offer shown a dozen or so posts above. It states that I can get 10 cents per litre off the price of petrol shopping at "your local Caltex Woolworths". Trouble is I cannot.

Neither can a number of others who have received this offer previously.

Didnt realise the 10c offer was a one off. Disappointed as could have used mstr andye1's offer-c'est la vie

Sorry, but I am not incorrect. If as per the instructions I have given you, you will find your answer.

Between Caltex and Caltex Woolworths, there are 3 different types of scenarios.

1) Caltex Woolworths - You will receive your 10cpl off here. Will Appear on the search using the "Woolworths Petrol" filter
2) Caltex (Accepts WWR) - As per the terms, Starmart on site so it won't accept the 10cpl - Will appear on the search under the "Caltex Petrol" filter. As a side note you can generally double up and get Myerone points at these locations.
3) Caltex (does not accept WWR) - No fuel discounts here, but Myerone - Will not appear at all on the Woolworths search.

As I have mentioned, it is your prerogative if you choose to discard the information, but I have provided an answer. FWIW, I have never not received the 10cpl before.

Try Petrol Spy. You usually can tell the difference between the various Caltex servos by the logo on the map.

Quite the contrary, ever willing to learn new and exciting (profitable) information I did as you so eloquently provided. Nowhere did I see a listing of Caltex Woolworths, Caltex or Caltex boxes to check to find somewhere where I could successfully redeem the offer.

What I did see was "Woolworths petrol" or "Caltex petrol".

Obviously I must be hallucinating as I do not see what you describe:

The email clearly states (see http://www.australianfrequentflyer....rds-targeted-offers-71658-84.html#post1668265) "Just fill up at your Caltex Woolwoths..."

Well on the link you kindly referred to the choice is Caltex or Woolworths. Now what does that email say? That's right "Caltex Woolworths"....

So I 'tick' Caltex and this is what showed up. Not one of those Caltex Woolworth petrol stations will accept the offer, in fact not one of the stations that come up in NSW with that choice do.

Does your screen show the name differently?

I chose the one that said Caltex first as that is what the email offer states and there is nothing in the T&Cs to suggest anything otherwise.

If the email said Woolworths Caltex then I would have checked the "Woolworths petrol" BUT IT DID NOT.

But on the other hand you can find a listing for "Woolworths Caltex".

Thanks whatmeworry the fuel spy link works well.

2017 07 26 Wow petrol spy.jpg

But the email definitely says "Caltex Woolworths".

However, just when I was getting excited - I saw that Fuel spy refers to all them as Woolworths Caltex. Still its a useful price finder even if it does not solve the misleading email offer!

But unlike the Woolworths' link - this one provides a phone number that goes to the store vs the Woolworths 1300 number. Cleveland St is not a Star Shop nor a Star Mart (neither is it my local but that's another story...)

I am not sure that is correct - the logos for Woolworths and Caltex are the same. I believe that Woolworths that qualify for the 10c discount are called 'Woolworths Caltex' and those that don't are called 'Caltex Woolworths'. At least that is my experience .......

You can also click on the station to see what type of Caltex it is.

Moving on (petrol offer successless) to a hot off-the-presses series of emails pelting the inbox....

2017 07 26 15% VFF offer.jpg

And just as I was about to weaken....

So another 5% on top of the month long 10% offer.

The email has come through for EVERY VFF account ranging from pleb to Gold.

Just goes to show it is the EXCEPTION that proves the rule - "He who hesitates is lost!"

Or is it "Fools rush in where AFFers fear to tread"?

Back on the bonus point trail after a couple of year in the self-imposed wilderness after Woolies changed their program, but not expecting too many bonus offers as my wife shops regularly on-line with delivery. The "sinking screen" is annoying when looking at all the offers. Might not last very long...

By some miracle I actually got my 10 cents per litre fuel discount today.

The petrol station I used was signed on the tower as Caltex Woolworths, Caltex on the top followed by Woolworths further down. The shop where I paid for the petrol was signed as Woolworths. It was on the same property as a Woolworths supermarket.

This isn't consistent with the previous offer where the same petrol station couldn't give me the 10 cent discount on 2 of my other family member cards. I think I'll chase one of those cards up and see if I can get an equivalent amount of points given to me to make up for not getting the cash discount last time.

Another cough offer from WWR today - after rejecting several bonus points offers in recent months because the spend target was too high, I receive this offer, which starts tomorrow: "Activate now and earn 5x points instantly". Ok, that would be great BUT I don't get the extra points unless I "Simply spend $100* in one or more transactions by Sunday, 6th August." What is it about "the spend target is too high" don't they understand?????
