Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I think I'm mad. Would never have done this pre-AFF:

Went into WW this morning with $10 bonus dollars on the card, spent $72.69 and $10 bonus dollars in 4 separate transactions at the self-serve checkout and came out with $9 bonus dollars. How? Spent the 1st $30 to get an extra $5 bonus dollars, then put fruit and veg through in separate $10 transactions to get $1 each time.

So next week the first thing I will put through is $10 of fruit and veg, which will give me $10 off the rest of the shopping.

That's a lot of fruit and vegetables.

Well done. That's the method I would use if I bought lots of fruit and vegetables at Woolworths.

I am glad so people are getting use out of this new system!

I currently have a measley $1.50 in I&S money.

The first offer I got was back in Feb 5 days before I flew to Japan for a holiday, it was 2 weeks of spend $50 to get $10 I activated it and I think I actually would have spent $50 that week (and I did scan each shop) but it was a spend in transaction offer :-(

I recently got another offer of the same. Activated but due to our shopping again had no hopes of activating.

I also have never got a spend X and get X QFF points.

So yesterday I logged in just to check and sure enough I am linked to QFF so they know I want them!

Okay i think i have a new cunning plan...

I just topped up my opal card (i typically do $80 ea month and paywave with ING to get my pay back) at woolies - I have been doing it since Opal started.

Anyway since i stopped getting QFF pts i have stopped scanning my card.

So my cunning plan is to dig the knife in. I will scan each and every time I get an opal card and purposely NOT buy anything else.

And in the case of the people who say they track your spend with card payment the majority of my other food shopping is done using a different bank acct. So they will see i go into woolies regularly and do not buy anything!

Received a spin, spin, spin offer. Spin the wheel. How exciting is that? I won $10 Woolworths dollarsfor $150 spend online.

Seriously? Who dreams up this rubbish?

I got the $15 off $100 online. Why would I spend that much to get $15 off when all I had to do today was get $50 worth of groceries to get $15 off instore with a targeted offer on my partner's card?

I got the same email - "spun the wheel" before I realised it was for online spend only, and got $10 off $100 spend, which I would never do in one shop anyway - also the one and only time I tried to place an WW Online order, it wouldn't accept my CC payment (despite multiple attempts with two different cards, which were working perfectly well everywhere else) so I gave up in disgust.

No idea which thread to put this in but might as well go here... gotta say - pretty impressed with woollies ATM*. Started the week with $9 sitting in my account (earned through orange ticket items since the program began), spent $10 for lunch on Monday and got $10 bonus ('instant win') then yesterday spent $2 on a discount salad (use by today), scanned the card on impulse, and won another $10 'instant win'.

Brings our total win now to around $60, mostly small spends (under $20), maybe a couple times a week.

*in this context 'ATM' could well = automatic cash machine! It just keeps paying out! :)

Very interesting. We haven't won any scan to win $10 amounts yet. It sounds like the weeks run from Wednesday to Tuesday like the catalogues given that you can only win $10 per week per card. The draw is done each week and if you scan the right card that week you can claim the win. If your card wins but you don't scan it that week then the funds go into the second chance draw at the end of the promotion.

Oh! Thanks for the info. Yeah - I must have just scanned at the right time - Tuesday and Friday of this week (2 different 'woollies weeks'). We haven't registered for any offers (didn't even get any).

I expressed surprise to the check-out assistant and they replied saying 'you will have got points from buying orange ticket items' (roll-eyes). Wasn't till i got to the end of the docket that I saw the 'instant win'.

In all the time they've been running this "instant win" promotion, I've never managed to get one regardless of how often I've scanned my card, on small shops and larger ones, so must just be unlucky I guess!

Wondering if they will ever fix this! I would happily spend $150 + per week at Woolies if I got some offers of x FF points if you spend $x. Not interested in Woolies $ on orange tickets, fresh fruit purchases or random draws. Spent $170 at Coles today and will continue to do so until they give me what I want.

Also had spin to win but not interested in online shopping after too many experiences of quickly spoling meats.

This morning: spend $30 earn $5 rupiah or 435 Qantas points.

Thus the conflict begins of points at 1.1 cents each.
