Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

It's not easy and I don't think I can keep on top of it but using a number of offers concurrently did manage to earn ourselves over $106 of either Woolworths or real dollars doing a $308 shop in two lots. Picked up another $15 with the 5% off gift card so all in all a good nights work and I'm not even counting the savings we made through normal specials. We also maxed out the double points offer for two of us, so probably another twenty odd dollars still to come. We did buy about $80 of cheese for christmas so that helped with the 30% offer but other than that, everything else was on the shopping list. There did seem to be more Woolworths dollar offers than I had seen before and they were on things we often buy like eggs, milk, cheese, cereals etc

As I said, it wasn't easy, no way you can just shop normally and let them look after for you. The offers all came separately and really had to think about how they could be fully utilised. There were 5 different offers that came individually and I don' think the majority of people really could manage properly but if they keep coming like this, may well end up better than the QFF scheme much as I hate to say that

It is starting to look like the penny may have finally dropped with the corporate bean counters.

Instead of Woolies only paying out bonuses on the dreaded orange price card items they have no sent out multiple discount redemptions to most of us which provide us with $$ back (and QFF points for another 3 weeks) no matter which products we buy from them.

By stacking a few redemptions today I scored 120 QFF points and 44 Woolies Pesos (dollars) from a $150 shop

In the first 5 weeks of the new program I had managed to earn a total of 0.70 Woolies Pesos so the changes have been a positive for me.

Problem is - I still value my FF points and come January 1 Woolies will be out of the game. Coles and Etihad (Virgin) will get my business as I can leverage a better return from FF points than supermarket rebates.

Targeted Woolworths Rewards offers. How to get more Woolworths dollars.

G'day guys n gals.
So just read thru posts n see some of you refer to BigW and possibility that they are considering their own Loyalty program.
Saw on 9news tonight that KMART want to purchase 50+ BigW stores from Woolworths in the foreseeable future.

Guessing that may have an interesting outcome in regards to the future...

I can't see Woolies handing over the keys to 50+ stores to Wesfarmers.

Only 5 years ago, Kmart was in even worse predicament than Big W in terms of negative sales growth and Wesfarmers only got Kmart saved from extinction by completely changing the product range and rolling out a " primark" ( UK ultra-cheap fast fashion retailer) style product offering.

A new CEO of Kmart in the way of Guy Russo has certainly been a key driver of the change.

Big W got it wrong when they stripped out much of the product range such as Paint, Motoring, Gardening, Hardware & Electrical and opened up space for more apparel.
This has back fired badly on Big W.

Plus so many new stores for Big W ( particularly in southern NSW) have either been cancelled or put on the back burner in order to reduce expenditure due to the masters blowout.

I believe Woolies management has a strong emotional attachment to Big W to let it go right now, although if the negative sales growth continues I would suggest the likely the scenario would be a complete sell off.

Woolies have a solid relationship with Wal-Mart, with Roger Corbett being a current board member.

Not to mention Greg Foran the one passed over when appointing the Woollies CEO who is now CEO of Walmart.

Nocookies | The Australian?=

But if you use the link it probably will come up against the pay wall so best to Google-watching woollies sacrifice its retail knack.

I got an interesting offer which was sent from Woolworths rewards but is actually for Woolworths online. It's $15 off a $75 spend. There is a coupon code so it appears the $15 will come off my order straight away. I've got a couple of weeks to take up the offer so I think I'll wait until next week to do my order, provided I can get the new website working on my system. I've still got week 2 of last weeks offer to complete this week.

Greg Foran was Woolworths Head of Supermarkets before moving to Wal-Mart. He started the price war with Coles.

His name has been touted as coming back to lead Woolies again, although I would be surprised to see this happen.

I'd beg to differ.

Ian McLeod the former Coles director really initiated the price war and took the bull by the horns and spruced up what was a dinosaur of Australian Retailing into a supermarket powerhouse.
This was attached by the hugely successful "down, down" marketing campaign, which took a few too many years for Woolies to react to.
It's cost Woolies dearly holding onto margin v being price competitive.

Spot on. I can't quite comprehend how someone can walk away with a $10 million payout after failing in the job they were supposed to do. Ludicrous.

Quite wrong. Woolworths started it. Coles scrambled to catch up (quite clear at the start with Woolworths having new POS for the campaign and Coles using the back of special tickets). The thing is that once Coles got organized, they came up with the more memorable marketing and haven't really changed it. Woolworths meanwhile has changed their marketing and POS for it 7 times.

That way he does not name names such as board members who enjoy their 6 figure compensation for their 12 or less meetings a year as well as playing off the WoW seat to get other directorships that generate multiple 6 figure streams.

Extremely lucrative NOT to be named as involved in a disaster - just look how Ziggy Switkowski went from ugly duckling at Optus (driving it into near bankruptcy and being taken over) to 7 figure earner at Telstra.

Tracing the board members from OPtus at his time to now and his career creates a VERY interesting picture.

Think about it from a non-existent board member who is deep into snout-in-trough territory a once-off payoff, sorry termination/departure package for the CEO is cheap insurance to keep their annual 6 figure per directorships flowing.

Cost/benefit stacks up nicely for this fictitious character however sadly not for the company they are currently on the board nor for their future directorships.

Nah, couldn't happen in the real world...

I got $200 for earn $35 for next two weeks and alas the same error message.

One of our family members got a rather complex but very useful targeted offer. The good news is that it is such a good offer I'm not even going to attempt to take up my online offer of $15 off a $75 purchase. It will be wonderful not to have to use their painful new Woolworths online site.

New offer below.
Get $30 worth of stuff and get $10 off instantly at the checkout, shop between December 9 and December 13
Get $40 worth of stuff and get $15 off instantly at the checkout, shop between December 14 and December 20
Get $50 worth of stuff and get $20 off instantly at the checkout, shop between December 21 and December 27

Each part of the offer can be taken up once only. The exclusions list has been extended. The offer doesn't have to be activated.

I'll be shopping tomorrow to take up my $10 WWD for $40 shop. That credit will stay on my card for a couple of weeks now while we use the other card. I'm going to have to start a spreadsheet to keep track of who has what credits on their cards. I still like the flybuys dollars deal. I can use flybuys dollars from one card to pay for goods on the other cards.

Trip to Big W was good and bad.

Good - 3 transactions spending between $12 -$15 each got $10 WoW off (3 family member accounts)

Bad - Xmas lights MORE EXPENSIVE at Big W than elsewhere - 200 LEDs for $20 vs (say Coles) 250 for $14 currently.

So house will not be as lit up as planned. Unless glow from TV watching 2 x $2 DVDs and 1 $5 DVD counts!

Haven't tried activating again. Mum got a much better offer. ;)

- First week spend $30 get $10 Woolworths dollars
- Second week spend $40 get $15 Woolworths dollars
- Third week spend $50 get $20 Woolworths dollars

Looks like they are trying keep some people from going to the competition. Much better than QFF points.

We'll agree to disagree!

What's your prediction on Woolworths market share moving forward?
Will they remain market leader?

Maybe if the idiots working at Norwest learnt how to listen to the people working in the stores...

It must be a tough environment atm.

Those that work in the stores face the brunt of the complaints, yet don't make the big decisions.
It's a tough gig that's for sure.
