still not clear on the domestic virgin lounge access situation for EY Gold users. will showing an EY Gold card grant domestic lounge access when flying on a virgin ticketed flight(eg MEL>PER)?

It will grant access so long as your flying a domestic VA flight regardless of who ticketed it (although I used it on a VA flight on EY stock no issues)

Yes. Currently in MEL lounge having convinced staff to let me in as an EY Gold (even though I don't have my card yet).

Edit: VA flight number, metal and Velocity number showing on boarding pass.

Has anyone had their status match confirmed yet?

They are very slow and there is this minor detail which was added overnight:

If you are based in the UAE and have a gold or a higher-tiered card with any other airline loyalty programme, we’ll match it with a complimentary Etihad Guest Gold card*!

I have just moved to the Abu Dhabi Hilton ;)

It's great weather there this time of year. I moved in 5 minutes ago. Got a feeling I'll have to check out again soon enough. This is surely a victimless crime?

Update: I forgot to add my PDF of my existing card and statement to my first email! 2nd email now sent, with correct paperwork attached. V funny. I won't be terribly disappointed if I don't get comped as a result -- but would be happy to have an Etihad card until 2017 if that's really how far out they set re-qualification.

It was actually a bit cold there two weeks ago and I expect the same when returning home at the end of the month. I think EY are still a little shocked by a certain mistake fare that caught them off guard, they have made quite a fee changes to promos after publication in the last few weeks.

UAE = Updated After Event (by them)
EY = Excellent Yield (for us, at least potentially)

I eventually sent it off yesterday so should have just made it. Seems odd targeting your local audience, isn't that exactly who you wouldn't want to target?

I ultimately decided not to apply for this as I simply didn't think I'd ever use it. Gone are the days I wanted to be elite in every program (but only credit to one).

You can never have too many elite statuses!

EY gold could be useful if you don't have Velocity status, no? That scenario applies to myself at least...

It could if I flew VA. But I'm solely focused on QF for now so don't see the need to diversify. If I was going to use it I'd apply.

Besides I don't see a P1 to 2-levels below as a good value match :p

If EY wanted to be real coughs they could demand that in order to fulfil the UAE resident criteria of the promotion, one must send in a scan of their Emirates Identity Card.

I sent my application in before they switched the terms, but given previous history I'm not expecting to hear from them for a while.
