The Etihad rep is here on AFF these days too, maybe they could respond in here?

I sent the Etihad rep a PM - and they answered, shame they didn't actually provide an answer. They said they will check on the email but advised me I should contact DHL.....

I replied with details and also cc'd the guest relations email also listed at the bottom of the DHL one

So has anyone got a response yet? Should we send our details as per the email for DHL???

I sent mine through, for what that's worth.

I can't envision hacking a status match email, sifting through to find everyone who had been matched, waiting until Etihad say they're sending the cards, hacking a DHL email, sending an email only to those who will receive shipment of the card, and asking for their address, without any further links or info which could be incriminating and passing right through both hotmail and gmail spam filters without a hitch. Would be a heck of an elaborate scam for almost no reward.

The alternative - that Etihad use DHL to send out the cards but many accounts have dated/inaccurate addresses so give DHL the email addresses linked to the relevant accounts to confirm the cards end up being shipped to the correct current addresses - seems more likely to me.

I just checked my account online to see what the expiry date of my Etihad Gold is but cannot find the info.

However, I delved further and found my address details were recorded incorrectly.
* No street type
* The state was in the 'City' field
* No postcode

I hope the card hasn't been processed yet as there is no way it would find me with such an incomplete address :shock:.
It may be an idea for AFFers to check your accounts too

Today I received the following email from Etihad (all address details are correct):

Dear Fifa,
Greetings from Etihad Guest and Please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response due to a high volume of emails received recently.
Having checked your account, we noticed that the below Postal address is updated.

No mention of DHL.

BTW - Etihad took 11 days to respond.

Received exact email after notifying them of the updated address and after couple of days received the DHL email. Took the leap of faith and provided details to DHL awaiting for card.

I did the same and havent received a response.

I have not been concerned about delivery of the card.
I have my number and an image of the printable card stored in dropbox (and therefore on my iphone and ipad).
I have images of all my cards stored there in case I lose them.

Is there some purpose which I am overlooking for which one absolutely must have the plastic card?

Have you guys used the screenshot method to get into a VA lounge yet??

Never held an EY card but conceivably there is info stored on magnetic strip, which some lounges may insist on swiping. I know in Air Canada lounges if you want to guest someone in you must present the physical card for swiping. No physical card, no dice, no matter what you say or show.

No.
I have a flight on VA tomorrow but it's an award flight in J so I won't have an opportunity to try to rely on EY status for lounge entry.
I could try on my next paid flight. Has anyone been able to change the frequent flyer number in their booking AFTER check in?
I don't want to risk the status credits going to EY instead of VA.

Hi.

I took the gamble and sent the dhl email off.

Hope it pays off.

Thanks,
K.

Also took the gamble with the DHL email and the card arrived today via DHL. And it's valid until Mar 2017 - NICE :)

Ok I sent it a week later than you. So probably a week from today I may get the cards. I only will use it for virgin lounge access domestically.
