Replied to DHL's email and received the card in the mail yesterday. Valid til 03/17 as well so that is pretty awesome!

As a side point Etihad's social media reps are useless. I PM'd them asking about this email and what the go was. They had no idea and asked for a copy of the email, so replied with it and heard nothing back. In this day and age it would be so easy for someone to verify it and post a message so everyone is happy. They seem to be just a puppet for regurgitating what is on the website, i.e. useless.

Edit: Ok, they just responded to my PM 1 minute ago stating: "Hi travelislife, that's accurate as DHL is part of the card delivery project. *ES"

Received today in rural Tasmania. Didn't reply to the 'DHL' e-mail until yesterday (8th July), after ozpete's note above (sent the e-mail and received the card). Now I'm sorry I replied, as it clearly wasn't necessary, judging my others who have received it at the same time with no e-mail; I am still suspicious about it.

Card valid till 03/17 - the month matches my QFF anniversary date, which is the scheme they matched to (albeit a tier lower )

Edit: Date on enclosed paperwork 6th of July.

Came today, inclosed letter dated 11th June.

I like the bag tags, not just a plastic card with a coughpy loop. The 'leather' pouches feel quite nice and look like they would take a decent beating.

Yep, VA lounge access on VA flights is what I used mine for.

If you book under your Velocity FF number and its on the BP, can you wave the EY Gold card to get into a VA lounge? Or do you have to do the tiresome thing of booking under EY #, then change it in the lounge to VA#?

'Fortunately' VA lounge access isn't such a big issue either way, in HBA :evil: .

i was also wondering this, if I apply and am successful with the current 110k Velocity/Amex card would I get lounge access when using the 2 free flights or economy award bookings using the EY card ?

I guess you mean EY (EK partners with QF).

That will probably be the only time I'll get to use my gold card, on those two free VA flights.

Wave the card and enter. Take a guest as well if you like.
