We’ve periodically seen the same thing with reporting of QF faults. As you’ve said this is a non event. In fact, if it was the outer pane as reported, then there was no reason for the crew to make an early landing. The outer pane is non structural, and basically provides a nice surface for the wipers to slide over.Boeing really under the spotlights now. ANA 737 non max issue reported in the media.
