There to help the campaign?I sat at the table next to the former Treaurer of Australia, at the Perth Hilton Globe Bar around midday. Heard all about his new consulting business he is running :-|
Almost had the Premier of South Australian, Mike Rahn, shake my hand by mistake last night. Took QF flight PER/ADL and sat in 3D alongside two (French?) gentlemen in 3AC. As we walked up the top of the gangway, Mike Rahn was waiting there with a minder. They were there to greet the other two gentlemen who walked out behind me as I heard "Welcome to South Australia".
Now who will be on my flight in J this afternoon ADL/SYD??
Sat next to journalist and TV presenter George Negus whilst onboard SYD-MEL yesterday.
We exchanged courtesies at the beginning and end of the flight (with a handshake at the end), however the rest of the time we kept to ourselves, with George reading the paper and several magazines. I figured that he must be between assignments or trying to keep abreast of what's going on for his next assignment. So it seemed only fair to give him some time for himself. Besides, what kind of educated small talk could I possibly offer that could pique his interest?
Sat next to Senator Robert Hill this AM in J on the way to SYD.
Brendan Julian - see hereI've also seen Julian someone (ex-cricketer, now commentator for Fox)
So it could be one of these guys - as you have taken Boonie out of the picture. Not sure that Merv still has quite the handlebar any more.Another person I've seen was one of the Australian cricket team selectors - not sure what his name was (actually, I don't think he's a selector now). He wasn't the one with a caterpillar on his face. This was also on a SYD-CBR run.

Saw Molly Meldrum on a SYD-MEL not so long ago.
