Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

As an aside, while they all have a presence, Venus really does stand out. But she was very gracious at breakfast allowing a few kids to have their pics taken with her.

My understanding is it not polite to approach celebrity while they eating. The children should have waited patiently until she finish breakfast before requesting photos. Why the parents not take control?

Venus is large and beautiful lady.

The kids or the parents got the staff to ask her. But while the kids were nearby so no chance really for Venus to say no. Only saw it one morning at breakfast. All other players were left alone, all were just walking through lobby or down to the gym etc. I didn’t see anyone else hassling them at all. Very chilled. Hotel has been hosting players for that tourney for a while now, I think.

Notin a lounge but at Bridport on Saturday and a fellow looked familiar.Photo in Monday's Examiner-Richie Porte.Grew up near Lonnie but was competing in a triathalon.probably did a good bike leg.

I fly through Sydney about monthly from GC or Melbourne . Over the past two years I have sat next to or behind Richard Clapton four times . What are the chances ? Last time the bloke behind me asked if I could get "Eric's" autograph for him

We then got on a flight and observed a well known NRL footy show presenter board looking scruffy and wearing thongs. Just didnt look the part

And fair enough, too. He's not on the clock. Doesn't preclude the compliment to Vince Sorrenti, but I thank my lucky stars nobody gives a damn what I look like when I step off a flight, sometimes it ain't pretty. You couldn't pay me enough to deserve that sort of scrutiny, honestly.

30 years ago on our first flight to Sydney on Singapore Airways, Richard Branson walked towards the rear of the plane. When he realised we recognised him he stopped to chat. He had a great sense of humour as my mother-in-law thought he was one of the BeeGees

I get you but then , maybe Im old fashioned , I dont believe there is any place for thongs on an aircraft or a lounge

No exactly flying/lounging, but we saw Phil Collins' band/entourage on Sunday morning at our Melbourne hotel lobby. They were all heading for the airport - had a hire truck for everyone's luggage, including hand luggage. We could hear comments that people only had their passports and wallets on them. There was a 16/18 seater passenger bus outside, which we assumed was taking the people to the airport.

My brother picked us up for brunch before we got the chance to see Phil himself. Mr Katie was proudly wearing his new Phil Collins shirt; the concert was the reason we were in Melbourne that weekend (because in FF style, Mr Katie was in Radelaide the night of the Brisbane concert).

Oh, and later that day, I think I saw Sylvia Jeffreys (journalist, formerly on channel 9 I think) in the QF MEL J Lounge.

Quite the star studded flight from MEL>LAX the other day. A combination of Australian Open and Superbowl travellers. Eddie Maguire, Luke Darcy, George Colombaris, Serena Williams and Milos Raonic all sitting near me.

In the OOL VA lounge yesterday sitting together were

I was on a QF flight a few years ago with wife (we burned a bunch of points to fly business back from SYD-BNE which we normally wouldn't bother with but.. was celebrating 40th birthday I think..). We were in 2A/B and I think he was in 1F.

Asked the hostie if it was ok - to get him to autograph my boarding pass and to pass on the comment "it'd be great to get an autograph from the last captain of the Wallabies to have won anything.." - Heard a big snort of laughter and got my autograph (by proxy) - was a nice flight.

I saw Turia Pitt in the VA SYD lounge late last year. Was far too shy to go up to her to talk and didn't know the protocol anyway (hate the idea of hassling someone who might be time poor). Was also scared I may have burst into tears in public - as thinking about what she'd been through and achieved and continues to do so is amazing and brings up a lot of emotion.

They were all in the F lounge prior to your flight, too. Serena was with her daughter in one of the private rooms.

Saw Joel Creasey in the VA Lounge in SYD last Tuesday - taller than expected.
Flying back (MEL-SYD) on Saturday night Miguel from The Living Room was in 1A. Lovely bloke - hostie took a selfie with him. Later he was shaking his head and wondering why he'd agreed to go on Dancing With The Stars - the reason for his travel.
