Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Aus Cricket Team (Y) + Channel 9 callers (J) on the 1020 from HBA yesterday.

The Aus cricket team travels Economy? I know that bowlers try to be 'economical' but I am surprised to hear this.

Earlier in this thread I mentioned that I travelled home one evening from BNE accompanied by an NRL team. They all travelled in economy on the 73H - first 4 rows of it.

OMG That definitely tops all the other celebs in this thread. That is so exciting!

Did you talk to them and ask "How do you do?"

During turbulence did you hold on tight? (you know turbulance can be a little bit dangerous)

Did you ask her to 'join the joy ride' whilst simultaneously raising and lowering your eye brows?

Mr Alan Joyce on QF409 SYD-MEL this morning. He was sat at the back of J. Seemed to be down at least overnight.

That was the real reason for your opup. They knew you went to the WP lunch so figured you should be where you should be ;)

I would have said:

"I see you've pulled the knife out of your back and putting it to good use"

or perhaps..

"You don't need to go in there. Your career is already in the sh*tter!" ;)

Well I guess they're not famous as neither I nor almost anyone else on the plane knew who they were (i heard lots of peopke ask 'are they AFL?' And thought that was a reasonable question) but Melbourne Storm were just on QF856. We knew they were a sport team though because they were all in uniform.

Flew SYD-TSV with the Sydney WNBL team who were playing Townsville in a semi final. Ran into the team again when I was out at night.
I often fly with the NRL team the NQ Cowboys. One of the high schools up there has a big poster out the front which says something like "Aaron Payne went to school here" so they are inferring if you go there you could become an overpaid NRL boofhead. (No insult intended to boofheads or Aaron Payne).

Not on a plane but walked past Nick Greiner in the street in Sydney on Wed this week. Talking on his phone, looking pretty important some 20 years after being Premier.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban and their kids were on QF107 the other day they were in F im guessing as they werent in J!

Delta Goodrum was in J and have to say she is stunning even after a 2hr delayed 14hr flight!

Enjoyable thread.

I sat next to a tiny and immaculate Lena Horne on a flight from NY to SF years ago. I left her alone until the last half hour. She was charming; said "If I'd known you were so interesting I would have talked to you sooner". She was gorgeous, in brilliant coloured silk.

Much more recently, I said hello to Miriam Margulis (here for her one woman show about Dickens) at the Tullamarine luggage carousel in December. She was dressed very simply. I complimented her on her work and she said "As long as they keep writing parts for me I'll keep enjoying it".

Another former foreign minister, Alexander Downer, in the HKG F lounge and on QF30 in J last night.
Had to be told to switch off his electronic devices well after the announcement, but otherwise no airs and graces.
And no platinum shadow for him (instead a broadsheet-wielding and talkative, then crashed-out and aisle-blocking neighbour), whereas I did have one of the few on the upper deck, which I found strangely gratifying (schadenfreude?).
Would he still be CL?

Apparently I saw the premier of NSW at Wagga airport this morning...
Him arriving, me leaving. Wouldn't know him from a bar of soap, although the media scrum were a subtle hint. A local pointed him out - didn't look too impressed ;)

Bob Carr plus cronies in SYD F lounge right now eating breakfast.

Perhaps they doing a Flouge run before JQ35 switches to a Sunday? :D

Or maybe an overseas junket, ahem I mean 'study trip' in First Class naturally.

Edit: Just realised today is Friday not Saturday. Doh!

The Bobster did say he was off to NZ straight away. I thought he would have taken an RAAF flight though for that.

Foreign minister, so probably official duties rather than study trip.
