Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

In the last week at BNE Domestic I've seen former swimmer Kieran Perkins, TV chef Ed Halmagyi, Aussie model Samantha Harris & somone who I first thought was Larry Hagman but turned out to be QLD pollie Bob Katter with mobile phone glued to his ear as usual. I hope he's on an umlimited usage plan or his bill would be horrendous - I've never seen him not on the phone.

I hope for OUR sake that his phone is on a good plan, for one thing is guaranteed: taxpayers would be picking up the bill not Bob 'Dallas' Katter!

Just ran into Brad "Freddy" Fittler in a cafe/bar in the really small town of Glenorchy about 30 mins drive from Queenstown in NZ

Last Wednesday evening in the Virgin Lounge at Melbourne: Dermott Brereton and Baby John Burgess with his weird hair.

Melbourne Tigers not looking too happy in the Virgin lounge today. I guess they lost which is great for the 36er's considering their win rate has been pretty poor in the last couple of seasons.

South Australians will maybe understand this: I saw my gran in the first row on an Adelaide Canberra flight over the weekend

A few years back I saw the NSW Govenor on a QF to Melbourne, ....but the most impressive thing was she was happily seated in economy. No laurels to be found in 15c !!

I hope we get back to that level of austerity in all of our various governments.
Famous people have been in scarce supply but I did get stuck on an A330 for about 6 hours at Perth Airport with a Federal Government minister.

Back in August - Dr Geoffrey and Brynne Edelsten at the MEL QF Flounge.

On the same trip on the way back flying SYD-MEL after a transit in SYD, Andy Lee from Hamish & Andy (he was in Y)

Hi all first post!

Flying home from SFO Feb 2011 - Sarah and Lachlan Murdoch at the SYD baggage pickup

Flying MEL-CBR a few weeks back to ski, Seat 1A on a very new Virgin plane, reached into magazine holder and pulled out boarding passes from earlier that day belonging to C JUDD and R JUDD.

Not sure if that counts but I chuckled.

Welcome to AFF TahoeSkier!

I'd imagined this lady could fly any class she wanted.

IMO this GOV is first class all the way.....she married a Sir!

If she took his surname and used the married form of his title, she'd be Lady Shehadie! I can therefore understand why she prefers Professor Bashir.

Well they aren't in the biz lounge BUT the Vienna Boys Choir are all waiting at gate lounge 1 SYD T3 to BNE

Benicio del Toro in the SYD domestic J lounge at 11am today. I got a photo with him, nice guy.

Jonathan Thurston at TBIT after arriving on the BNE-LAX flight.
Gene Simmons now in the T4 Flagship lounge; also saw him at the Priority Aaccess security screening line, though he did not walk through the teminal, he came back out near the entrance to screening & went somewhere with I guess one of the AA Hosts.

Natasha Stott Despoja was in row 1 of J on my MEL-ADL sector (QF 69x*) yesterday afternoon.

She was behind me in the jet bridge. I actually found my CSM welcome onto the aircraft to be very rushed, fake and uncaring compared to hers :(
A little disappointing, but I guess I am not famous enough or whatever.

* cant remember and don't have BP on me
