Ahh I'm not finding anything. I don't have the magic touch clearly!

Not sure if returns are still pricing but go to expedia.com.au and just put in one way RGN to YVR in business, just priced 3/6/13 $366 and 4th $403

*Monty Burns voice* Excellent.

Sir Sheep and I booked for easter next year. Only one way, but flights from Canada are certainly cheaper than from Australia! Will see if it sticks ...

yes its still there - just can't get it to price the return as I can on expeida.de

Try expedia.com.au.

If I remember correctly, this happened after the first round in April. I think this is a 'safety' mechanism. Try one of the online agents.

thanks - i was looking for the wrong date for the return, plugging in a couple of days later shows up the fare.

It seems the DL fare's gone.

There's one more ex-RGN fare still available that I can see - RGN-KUL-JED-KUL-RGN in J for around GBP85 on almost all dates. Available on opodo.co.uk or cheapoair.com.

Flights are with MAS and SV.

the YVR fare went early this morning AU time.

The SV fare, while bookable, requires a visa, which for most people effectively rules out being able to use it (I'm guessing no one's actually booked it so that's why the fare remains... although almost worthwhile taking it just to get to KUL and no-showing after that!)

Seriously, you'd be mad to book the fair from RGN-JED (especially after my VISA issues in RGN), but why does it still look enticing??? I need psychological help, I'm addicted to stupidly cheap fares! I'll resist the urge this time, but no assurance for the future! I just wish the destination was mildly more attractive than than JED.

@BensAdventures, I've decided to give in to the illogical voices in my head that say book it...

Apparently an airside transfer is possible in JED if your connecting flight is within a few hours.

I'm already in SIN for the dates I've booked, so I'll tack on a cheap flight from JED to IST or somewhere in the region and (hopefully) I'll have a return flight to south eastern Europe for <$500.

Worst comes to worst, as Mel_Traveller said, I've grabbed a J seat RGN-KUL for less than $130 (or $65 booking one way). Even that's a steal!

I don't know how you do it brads92 .... I plugged 25+ cities into ITA and expedia last night and came up with zip. I didn't think of Saudi Arabia however!

Might be a nice earner if MH is in OW by then :) I'll stick with my YVR for now (hopefully it sticks!).

A post on the Flyertalk thread in the past 30 or so minutes picked up this article on mistake fares on news.com today.

unfortunately the article fails to recognise the protection of the DOT. EL AL probably had little choice but to honour the fares. nice little article but i can't ever see mistake fares happening ex AU for some reason. But we do get some good ones like QF launch sales... $999 MEL-DFW (almost 18000 miles round trip) is not too far off EL AL's $300 for the 11000 mile round-trip to TVL.

Unless they are ex AU but to or via the US maybe! Wasn't there a suggestion we would get our own Ombudsman recently, if they have similar powers to DOT bring it on I say.

the AU Airline Consumer Advocate only has powers to investigate whether the airlines have complied with their own terms and conditions! So fairly limited powers. If an airline says 'mistake fares not honoured' and they have complied with that then that's all the Airline Consumer Advocate can do!

This does not preclude a consumer taking their own legal action for breach of contract - but it's a much lengthier and harder process, and chances of success are unknown.

Well, so far, my RGN-YVR J ticket has stuck. Able to choose seats on airlines' websites. Credit card has been charged. Just wondering how long to wait before booking other parts of the trip :)

depends on when you're booked to fly!?

If it's into next year, then I'd try and wait until the first people have started flying on this fare and it comes to the airline's attention and they decide how they're going to handle it.

Once a few have flown, then start booking.

If your flight is coming up soon, book whatever you can that is refundable if possible, otherwise go ahead and book the rest. The DOT will usually make sure that any incidentals are reimbursed (like non-refundable hotels, airfares etc) - this is waht happened on other mistake fares before the new rules came in.

Not til the end of March 2013 ... so a way off yet. Not really any sale fares out for that time yet anyway, so I'll sit tight in the meantime and dream of ex-SEA or YVR status runs :)
