Not til the end of March 2013 ... so a way off yet. Not really any sale fares out for that time yet anyway, so I'll sit tight in the meantime and dream of ex-SEA or YVR status runs :)

no status runs out of YVR I'm afraid. However - you can amtrak to seattle (multiple daily departures, either by bus in 3.5 hours or train in 4.5 hours) for around USD40. From there you can knock yourself out. Check out SEA to SJU for example. If you want to nest YUPs then combine SEA-SJU with something like SJU-HNL.

IF they allow changes to the tickets with stopovers, then it would be good to do RGN-USA-YVR, immediate turn back to USA then do YUPs from there, then fly USA-RGN/ Would save the cost of getting out of canada by doing the immediate turn.

Yes I was eyeing off SEA-SJU. I've never actually been to mainland USA, and central america has been on my wish list for a while, so I'll knock a bit of that over. Mr k_sheep is along for the ride, so crazy status runs will be somewhat limited by his lack of travelling (and particularly TSA!) tolerance!

The ticket is actually only one way, so I can come home at my leisure, from whatever point I end up in. Was considering buying a USA-AUS return since it's normally cheaper than the reverse, however with the current QF sales on it's not much different. Or I could do a JASA one way. Will do some playing around soon :)

Something of relevance to this thread, for those booked on SQ/MI tickets, SQ are starting on the SIN-RGN route commencing Oct 28. Replacing one of the MI services I think. So if booked after then, get an SQ 777, which even with old J seats is probably better than an MI A320.

Can anyone direct me to a weblink with the Myanmar regular entry visa application form? I had a copy but have misplaced it and can't seem to find one anywhere.

Do you mean a tourist visa? If so, I have found a link here

That's the one. Thank you.

Below is what you want. When are you off? Are you doing VOA or going to send it off to the Embassy in Australia?

Mine is complicated. I'll try to summarise.

My parents and I (three tickets total) have one of the RGN fares booked for just before Christmas, over to Europe. We will fly PER-xSIN-RGN on 3K and turnaround the same day to start the RGN 'mistake' fare to Europe. Flyertalk has a number of reports of the transit visa not working properly so given it's the start of the big RGN-fare adventure, I've decided we'll all get the regular AUD35 tourist visa through the Embassy in Canberra for this first one.

I'll return from Europe to RGN a couple of weeks later, land in RGN in the morning and turn around again on my second RGN fare that afternoon back to Europe. I'll be away only a few days, back to RGN overnight then my third RGN fare home.

My parents return from Europe, have two nights in RGN and then fly home on their second RGN fare.

For my second entry to RGN (arriving from Europe and returning back to Europe), I'm hoping to get a transit visa. I will enquire about the whole transit visa availability and process on my first arrival in December and work out whether or not it's possible. If it is, I'll do the same for my third entry in January (which is overnight but less than 24 hours). If it's not possible, I'll use the visa on arrival service that you've referenced. My parents will also do this for their second entry.

Thanks guys, I am now on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd round, might cancel the second though as was able to book the 3rd round out to August.
I can see the fare on EF. Definitely needs a couple extra zeros at the end of it.

Missed the 1st round... ticketed/cancelled the 2nd round.. maybe 3rd time lucky? :D

It's definately 'kinda' back! I've priced a few fares RGN-NRT-ZRH-YUL or YYZ for prices from $500-$700 USD. The issue is getting back, apparently some have found returns for double the price, but they seem hard to find. I wish there was a RGN-NRT-Anywhere-Australia... I used two cheap fares earlier in the year, one return to CPH for $700, and one ow to MEL with EK for $350, both in F! Loved it!

I also had RGN-NRT-LHR-JFK-YUL priced with NRT-LHR and LHR-JFK in First and all other legs in Business for $803 however it came up as sold out when I went to pay, this one really bummed me even though I got the one earlier at $270.

Any other successful routes?

Well I left this for a few hours, have come back and there are still things to book! SQ suites are still up for grabs. Certainly less F availability, particularly TATL. Not that I mind, it's mostly the longer flights that you need F.

Ended up booking something more One World centric...

RGN-KUL MH J
KUL-HKG MH (CX) J
HKG-LHR CX F
LHR-JFK IB (BA) J

the rest I will probably just skip

JFK-DTW DL - I assume F because I'm in 1A
DTW-YUL DL codeshare on a Y only regional

Hopefully MH hurry up and join OW. I'm missing out on TATL F and status bonuses on BA (if they're still going then). The JAL & BA F NRT-LHR looked good originally. Would of preferred AA but can credit the DL to Velocity.

Oh, and of course the important bit. Final price was ~490 AUD.

I like this one, where did you book it??

Pricing on travelocity.com right now for around $530 search RGN-SIN and SIN-YUL that is all and search it in business for your date. It gives you RGN-KUL Business KUL-SIN Business SIN-LHR First LHR-YUL Business

Random date in March - RGN-SIN SIN-YUL on expedia.ie = 265 Euros = $350.. (Business on MH to SIN - SIN-YUL via LHR on IB operated by BA) - WOW!!

look for the fare that is in the 500's and you get the SIN-KUL segment on A380 Singapore suites.

So tempting! Just no need to go to North America and already have two holidays planned for next year :(

If you go via HK, there are some first class tickets available with Swiss Air for $681 USD
