If you supposedly book one day apart for each flight segment (using SQ) you can get it via JFK for the same price.

Yep, there's still non F stuff as early as next month e.g. SIN-LHR-YUL in BA J. Doesn't touch US, but if booking on US OTA does that count? Been having trouble getting any expedia site to work. Also plenty of other routes - I've seen a good 15-20 different airlines that work. I'd avoid the Suites on the basis they'll be targeted for cancellation.

Has anybody got routing via Africa to work yet? I was thinking CX down to JMB or wherever they go, then to LHR.

Edit: the BA J fares I mentioned are under $300 if that helps anybody to pull the trigger. You're looking at a similar number of SC's if people are into the status thing

I've booked seven from this RGN mark III, at least six of which have ticketed.

I won't fly them all though (three are for my parents). Once the dust settles, I can afford for a couple of them to be cancelled by the airlines and then I'll have my pick of what I want to actually fly.

Note to self: investigate how to get Burmese residency; these Burma visa costs are making it terribly expesnsive to take part in these 'mistake' fares.

Negative. DOT protection only comes into play when (i) the credit card has been charged and (ii) a ticket number is issued, provided the flights go to, from or through (or within) the US.

From experience with RGN mark I and RGN mark II, different carriers will come into play and you will also see some ridiculously expensive fares, like over USD500k! This whole Burmese currency revaluation is causing some big headaches for some people.

To consolidate some information coming through on the Flyertalk thread:

• SQ may have corrected their fares now although some are still having success
• Adding a day between cities may help with finding different fares
• Some are finding routings through the Middle East and Africa
• There are reports of destinations in the US now in play (eg. ORD and JFK) as destinations in themselves (earlier (ie. 12 or so hours ago) it appears predominantly only Canadian destinations.

Don't be too concerned about routing through the US. While that certainly offers much better protection, if you can a routing not through the US, book it anyway and fight any battle later. For what it's worse, I have three from RGN mark I (plus two for my parents), booked back in April. None go to, from or the US but all is fine several months down the track.
