The comment was in relation to there being a ticket number but no charge to the Australian credit card after a week, with my comment alluding to the fact overseas travellers would know that settlement of overseas purchases will often take longer than those in Australia, so you should not be using the Australian experience as a benchmark. As others have posted, the actual charge can take a long time to come through, that fact a ticket number is in existence is a good sign while the lack of a charge onto the card means nothing at that stage.
I agree. For example, my regular hotel bookings with Starwood properties are often prepaid and I know that even though I get the confirmation number immediately, the time they can charge the credit card can be anytime between the time of booking all the way up to the date of check-in which could be weeks or months away.
