I realise you probably don't have photos of how it was before, but can you describe the differences and include a screenshot of your current reply box to help illustrate this point?

I see you are most likely browsing in a dark mode. This wouldn't affect the layout, but could result in strange colours as things get inverted to display better. Readability and the like.
I have no idea what I am doing. I thought I had screenshots of AFF on this phone but cannot find any.

I may well be in Night mode but I cannot find the setting. I have somehow managed to stuff it up totally and I cannot get back to the look I posted earlier. This new look is truly awful. The reply screen is tiny. It may habe been this way before.Screenshot_20191123-164317_Samsung Internet.jpg

Strike through of text no longer an option?

That looks like you've set an accessibility mode in the browser itself. Are other websites the same?

Coming back to this thread reminds me of an annoyance.Coming back to a thread clicking on the thread title is fine if regular posts.but coming back to a thread after ~ a month that now takes you to page 1.The little dot was better in this respect.

Where is it - I couldn’t find it earlier?
Along the top row in the 'reply' dialogue box is the S. Next to the U button.

For me, its there on my laptop display but it disappears on my iPhone display (as does the 'drafts' button), both in portrait and landscape mode. I've assumed that was deliberate to save real estate. Is that correct @support ?

Thankyou for confirming I’m not going crazy then! It appears on the iPad but not the iPhone as per below.

For those thread coming in at page 1 as you describe - look for the "Jump to new" option near the top (to the left of the "Watch" option).

It likely was exactly the same layout before, unless you were using "AFF Style (Classic)" but that is still very similar. As @oz_mark points out, it might actually be the case that you have accidentally turned on an accessibility mode in your browser. This will have nothing to do with AFF if so.
Ah I think it’s moved then. It used to be in the 3 dot drop down area.
This change happened when we last had a major update, so about April this year.

You can strike text quite easily by hand with the BBCode [S]. You can see additional codes at Forum Help

If you have caught up on all posts in a thread you are taken back to the beginning. While the blue dot is not there anymore, you can simply click the date of the last post and that will take you to that post. As highlighted below.

Deliberate is not the word I would use, but more default! I can alter the display of elements per screen size, but as this is the first time it has come up in 7 months it probably isn't a burning issue. I think it's designed so that on smaller screens the functions don't become too jumbled.

Of note perhaps, I do see the draft and strike buttons in landscape – along with font selection, but not in portrait, and often find myself rotating to access the draft button.

I know I’ve struck through since April. And it doesn’t appear for me in landscape either.

I may have used the iPad to do it though. I think JT and I might be the only ones to use it much.😅
So I can just put [ S ] before and after. That’ll sort fix it. Uggh. What is happening here....

No, not burning issue as far as I'm concerned.

I tried changing Styles and the 'missing' buttons don't come up for me in any of them, in landscape. Can live with it :)

At the end you need a backslash. [/S]

That is not correct - as @drron posts, if you have not looked at a thread for a while you are taken to the first post even though there might still be unread posts in the thread.

When that happens, the "Jump to new" option near the top becomes available enabling a one 'click' skip to the first unread post.
For those thread coming in at page 1 as you describe - look for the "Jump to new" option near the top (to the left of the "Watch" option).

A perfect case may be this threadthat I just experienced the issue with: Bombardier C Series aircraft become Airbus A220

I presume that’s a limitation of not using the default. We’d prefer members use the default style for the best experience.

The 'missing' buttons don't appear in any of the Syles, including 'default', on my iPhone X. Not complaining, just fyi.
