If you want to make sure, why not move 1 of the flights to SQ222? Then you have all bases covered.

Good idea but Sq232 is much better for my connections ex Sin.

You can as an absolute nobody in KF get 2 F saver awards on what should be a popular route. We are travelling to the US mid April next year.I was following the release of F awards on the SIN-NRT-LAX flight-didn't want the SIN-ICN-LAX flight due to it leaving SIN at 0255.As soon as a flight opened for booking there was only waitlist available.Penny dropped that it was the 77W with 4 F seats so I was resigned to missing out so on Sunday (30/4) booked 2 J savers.
On Tuesday night I got an email saying the waitlist had cleared. On seat selection 3 seats available for selection.
Fortunately little penalty for cancelling the J award.
I have no BIS points with KF,all from Amex.

Someone from SQTalk has spotted that the window layout is different on the Starboard and Port sides of the new Suites Section.

Hi guys.
My first post after having surfed this site for several years.

Many of us would have seen the pictures of the first class upper deck arrangement of 3 groups of 2 windows on the first of the upcoming batch of 5 A380s.
F-WWAQ (9V-SKU?)

Looking closer at some of the other photos of the new plane, I found that the window arrangement on the port side is different? With 2 groupings of 4 windows and 2 windows for the first class area.
Could we be looking at a super large suite as per Etihad on the forward port side of the plane?

As these suites are expected to pretty substantial in size, I wonder whether some of them may seat 2 pax and be able to be sold as such - so rather than being restricted to 6 F pax, they could potentially sell 10 pax (say) in a 6 suite cabin? Would hopefully improve redemption chances if so...

I cannot ever see SQ selling 1 suite for 2pax.

My wild guess is that the new Suites will make it more difficult to redeem Suites in future. Redeeming Suites has been relatively easy for some years. And indeed I have sometimes noted that Saver J's may have been gone, but Saver Suites were available!

Will be following developments on this thread. Has there been any news on this ?

I'm looking for return AU-EU R for 2 pax in July or August 2018. Although I'm Melbourne based I would happily fly to Sydney to try out the new suites.

More updates from Strait Times:

http://www.straitstimes.com/singapor...t-big-makeover

Looks like the new A380 could be start early next year rather than later this year.

BUT ALL of the A380 will be retrofitted to the new configurations.

The key paragraph from Strait Times are:

The airline, which has been working aggressively on its first major interiors overhaul in four years, did not reveal more about the new products. The big unveil is expected in November, after which the new products will feature on the first of five new A-380s that SIA currently has on order.
Customers can expect the new-look aircraft to enter into commercial service early next year, possibly on the Singapore- Sydney route, which was also the first A-380 route for SIA when it started flying the superjumbo in October 2007.

.

Not to the 5 oldest.

The retrofit will not be carried out for SIA's first five superjumbos, which are expected to be returned to lessors when their time is up next year.

Galley FM told me last week that the rumour is that a shower will be fitted. Also that the new suites are substantially larger than the existing ones.

Unfortunately I think the shower is a good example of when Galley FM get it very wrong :(

Noted that there is speculation on Flyertalk that the new Suites will be available on the SYD route in Jan 2018 on the basis that if you try and book a paid fair that there is only 6 seats available (ie the new Suites are speculated to only have 6 seat cabins).
