FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Thanks Paul for the post! I've always thought that AVIOS is not as attractive as some may think it is.

I think only good thing is if you travel EU, shorthauls via BA or other partners come in handy here. Other than that for flights initiating from Aus, it doesn't add a lot of value. To be honest, for Mel-Syd flights I prefer flying with Virgin over QF sometimes.

Im moving away from QF / CX to AVIOS now.
Much better value especially for short haul Y/J trips.

Since the rewards website update I've found my points post the next business day after the transaction posts.

Thanks for that observation Plutonus. I hadn't noticed that. Having said that, this is my first individual big charge since the new website launch so I noticed straight away when my points balance didn't jump significantly. Will report back once I've given it a day or so to post.

Citi is playing hardball now.

When I quit Select to go for fee-free Signature, they offered me 1/2 price for the 1st year but I declined.

On enquiry to return to Prestige, I was now advised 'full fee only' to which I said 'thanks'.

The only points Citi did not pay were those connected to ATO. The rest have always come through and although they do not give a running account like others it is close enough.

Just remember citi round down the $ value for each transation, much like amex.

I find my NAB and ANZ cards do a running total.

In the grand scheme not a biggie, but you if you do a lot of low value transactions the loss of points can start to add up.

For the limousine transfer, can my family travel with me together? Any extra fee? The 85km limit for Narita airport will take us to Shinjuku hotel? Will the limousine be able to carry 2 large check in luggages?

Thanks.

I don't see why not.

As long as there is enough seats and space for luggage.

Maybe someone who has used this service can clarify.

Welcome to AFF. Yes 2 large check in luggages should be just fine. No extra charge for extra pax. Though whether it will be a comfortable ride is a different story.
The cars that picked me up from KIX was a Toyota Crown. I had 2 others (wife + infant) and on the incoming leg, arranged for a baby seat to be installed.

If my flight is delayed, will the limo pickup service charge me extra? Provided that I have given them the details of my flight?

The Citi Rewards upgrade now provides some form of points tracking using the Points Dashboard page and points statement. Doesn't show the points earned per day rather than per transaction. Better than nothing. My account shows points earned and spent from 21 March.

IME no - Cruiserette had a 4hr arr delay from MQL in Dec 14 and limo was just waiting patiently for her - she was able to SMS someone to advise of delay but don't actually know who that was. Having said that all involved in this industry understand that delays do sometimes occur.

Not sure if this has been asked before.

I know Citibank doesn't award points for ATO anymore, but does it still award points for council rates, land tax, utility bills and insurances where Amex normally would just give 0.5 points/$?

Have just completed 4 bookings on the 'Stay 4 / Pay 3' promo. 2 bookings 5nts in duration at rates equal to hotels best available rate and cancel up to -24. Statement credit amt = to 1nts rate 60 days post stay.

3rd & 4th bookings were initially for 1 x 10 days and only 1 nts rate offered as credit - Cruiserette also holds Prestige so I requested 2 back to back 5 nts bookings which they agreed to - again 1 nts statement credit into CC 60 days post stay for each booking. This is at Double 6 in Seminyak over XMAS - bookings online on hotel web site are fully prepaid so to get equal rate with only 1 nts rate up front is a good outcome IMHO.

End result basically 20% statement credit for 4 x 5 nt stays at rates ~ equal to best available online rates direct with hotel. Saving ~ A$1,800 - fabulous saving and further emphasises underlying value of Prestige.

Have also requested Chsuffer transfer to / from MEL for June / July - distance is 47km so will be interesting to see their response - I will report back on this.

Cruiser, I am not sure I fully understand. So you have to pay in full and they credit you back the free night 60 days after your holiday effectively? And they are matching the prepaid rate but you don't have to pay until end of stay? But paying one nights deposit per booking?

Great value CE. To further add to this,

Just had our complimentary night in Sheraton Malaysia confirmed and availed the Limo transfer to airport paying additional US$50 (due to us being more than 30kms from airport). With the Hhonors into picture through rewards, booked 3 Nights in Double Tree Hilton for 30,000 citi rewards and obviously flights redeemed using citi points for all 3 in the family

All in all, getting the card and the points to work in our favour. Really happy with the value that Citi is providing us.

PS: The points that gets updated in the new rewards section still lists the card as select. Have any of you guys observed this?

Yes LadyC that's it - Citi have basically matched the best available rate from hotels - nowhere else online could I find any cheaper. 1 nts rate reqd as deposit - balance payable to hotel on dep.

Citi will then refund via statement credit amt in SGD equiv 1 nights accom rate on each booking 60 days post stay.. Any tax component is not available credit - only Accom component.

I think BT life insurance / income protection isn't posting points for me. Need to check, but I think that one may be a non-earner.
