FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

I don't use the side benefits as I just work on making the miles. Others may know about some fringe benefits of this card like a restricted limo service but I use my regular drivers for reliability. I am enjoying the super generous points/miles earn.

cove don't discount the 'Stay 4 / Pay 3' hotel deal they have - Cruiserette and I have bookings totalling $1,800 savings with this promo - those savings dwarf the annual fee - especially when I have not paid any ann fee for 3 yrs now.

Just wish I could warehouse in Westpac instead of Citibank - I have Westpac Black but not using it now as WKF Amex getting all the work - even at reduced 1.25pts/$1 earn - maybe I need to do as others and just use the WKF Amex for ATO spend and W Black for all other Amex spend - but that is going OT huh.

CE we can discuss this over an Olive Tree steak on a footy weekend. I have rarely found a hotel that I would want to stay in for 4 nights. Marriott Marquis in NYC was the last one and that was 5 plus years ago. The hotel was ok as we were exploring NYC.

I have no problem staying 4 or 5 nights if the hotel is right - here are the hotels we have booked at the '1 night rebate rate':

1. Grand Hotel Bordeaux - → GRAND HOTEL DE BORDEAUX & SPA - LUXURY HOTEL BORDEAUX - OFFICIAL WEBSITE - 5-STAR HOTEL BORDEAUX
2. Hotel de Londres San Sebastian - https://www.hlondres.com/en/
3. Back to back 2 x 5 nt bookings at Double Six Seminyak - Double Six Hotel

I'll report back and tell you if worth while.

As for the steak after a Dockers game in MEL - cannot wait - years ago my niece and I would regularly go to Docklands just to see Benny Cousins, Juddy and Kerry play when they were at their top - I have not seen Nat Fyfe live as yet but just can't wait to do so - so Freo have games in MEL on Sat Jul 25, Sun Aug 9 and Sun Aug 23 - so lets make some plans.

No danger being flagged cough "that guy" - as I posted Citi Concierge contact actually called me and thanked me for the feedback in writing which he can now pass on up the chain - he agreed the pricing was horrific.

FTR: Last year when we used the transfers home to MEL / MEL to home it was totally FREE - now with the 'km restrictions' it has gone from FREE to USD117.50 EACH WAY - and that is for the last 17km with the first 30km being Citi's paid component - you don't think that change is worth bringing to their attention - you don't think that borders on thievery?

Data point.

QF Chauffeur Drive offer a 60km zone for BNE, I live ~100Km from the airport. Those extra 40k's cost me $115 each way ... pretty good deal stacked against this mob.

Absolutely good deal stacked against the thieves who have the Citi contract. Thanks Amaroo - that info will be on the way to Citibank Concierge in like 2 mins - now where are those guys who claimed it a waste of time giving feedback to Citibank?

How long did it take for citi concierge to come back with a quote for hotels? I requested one yesterday morning and is still waiting for it. I want to make my booking by the end of the month to take advantage of Kaligo's 10000 KF bonus miles. Kaligo is only $20 more than the hotel's own website so that's good price for 10000 KF miles. However, if I can get 4th night free, that's a saving of $230 which outweighs the 10000 miles.

It took a few days VAG and all 3 bookings took some to'ing and fro'ing - in some cases they initially they came back with quotes considerably higher than hotels web site so I told them go back and re-quote. I would honestly allow up to 2 weeks to finalise a booking/

I'm here. :) in reply to K3nnis: i reckon the Plat Charge benefits are better (especially $200 travel credit, paid Accor membership), but the earning rate on the city card, visa acceptance and lower annual fee mean the city card is much better (except in the first year with the bonus MR or maybe if you have a professional organisation discount). Regarding chauffeurs, no comment!

VAG you may want to check virtuoso rates for your hotel as they sometimes run a similar pay 2 stay 3, pay 3 stay 4 deal. Available via many travel agencies. Unfortunately not online.

I see. I didn't even use the free Accor night and also the travel credit as i did not have any time to travel. That's why I got rid of the charge card. I originally got it for the bonus points. I stick to it for 1 renewal and that was it. Also $1200 is hard to swallow lol. Is the travel insurance on the prestige as good as the Amex ?

What's wrong with the chauffeurs? :) is it because of distance? For me shouldn't be an issue as I live within 10km of airport :)

Is that the one with Hilary Stockton of Travelsort.com? I'm not really into ultra luxury hotels, but just some 3.5-4 stars in good location is good for me. But, sure, I'll look into it.

I live 15km from the airport so it should be OK, although I am in BNE so I am at the edge.

Yet, by reading at their T&C's carefully, this is what it says:

"The VIP Limo offering is based upon a direct journey from your arrival airport to a location that is equivalent to or less than 30 km distance between the arrival airport to the destination. A surcharge will be applicable for additional stops."

So it clearly states 30km. Where did we get the information that BNE is 16km and PER is 14km? If Citi will charge me extra, I am gonna sue them based on this.

BTW, the name of the limo company already imply they are thieves. YQ, YQ..... AKA fuel surcharge by airlines, AKA stealing by the airlines for "Free" flights.

Lol. By the way is the limo service only for arrivals only? Or can they pick you up from your house to the airport?

Ok thanks. Not bad I guess. Now whether they will let me upgrade my signature to the prestige as I don't meet the income requirements. Unless it's income together with my wife lol :)

If you have sufficient credit limit on your signature to meet prestige minimum limit, you can probably just do a product transfer.
