FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

several of us discussed this, in this thread, when it occurred. don't be hating cos you're late to the party!

Sorry, I didn't mean "no one else reported" in here and I am not hating anyone. I meant Aussie bloggers such as AUSBT that didn't report it. It was exclamation in surprise rather than anger. I would expect this to be a big news!

I only had my card since late April so I missed the whole party. But it's a very pleasant surprise!

Guess the bloggers haven't noticed yet. Yes it's good for those of us with this card. Unfortunately for a lot of people, the min income requirement is now v high at $150k per annum. That will exclude many. Not sure when (if) Avios dropped off. Maybe the Cit1 people realised Australians without an o/s address aren't allowed to open BAEC accounts, so they spared themselves the trouble? It's a shame.

BAEC is a bummer ... totally predictable IMHO.

Becoming an even better card of choice. Widening the choice of transferring warehoused points is fantastic. I opened an Asia Miles account but it is sitting at zero at the moment.

Asia miles and British airways programs are great for Aussies.

Both can redeem on qantas flights for less points and tax than qantas points on the same flights.

QFF officially one of the worst programs for redemption!

Asia Miles is tricky. Be careful of the miles displayed online may not be the actual miles you will need, often more needed. Read Keith's Pointhacks about his misadventure.

If you transferred the points only to find out it's not sufficient, Asia Miles won't be responsible and won't honor the "mistake fare".

Basically it's most useful if you use it to redeem the most direct route. Sweet spots are:
-Aus-HKG for 80k round trip on CX J.
-SYD-NRT with JL or SYD-HND/BNE-NRT with QF, 80k rt in J or 120k rt in F.
-SYD/BNE-LAX with QF, 120k in J, 180k in F, round trip. Asia Miles has access to QF's inventory as soon as it's released, earlier than AA/AS.

I would give my lefty to read your reports of a CX rdpt which involved a substituted KA downgrade to 320 with its fabulous bus gate dep that MEL_T so vigorously defended recently - would make your recent QF 380 > 747 fiasco look like chicken feed.

Admittedly never experienced CX F but gotta tell you cove their J won't knock your socks off?

If we didn't have the occasional fiasco we would probably run out of conversation before midnight.
I peaked at the full retail value of a redemption on SQ over the weekend and almost convinced myself that was as good as it gets. I was of course drinking a Cullen's Diana at the time.
Our next international run is to Los Angeles next month so I hope to score some Silver Oak cab sav from the Napa region.
CE I saw your Cathay fail!

We are off to SIN on SQ in F Mon for 2 nts at MBS then R to CDG thanks to Citi at 1.33 KF pts / $1 - I'll prolly dream relentlessly about my recent MP expiration and its associated 'Asia Miles rdpts / adventures via CX / KA' - nightmares I won't readily want to repeat - but I guess they still beat the back of the bus.

They were still serving Teusner Shiraz in F last week MEL-SIN - I pigged out on Krug instead - hope I wasn't out of line.

Krug makes me feel good when I am flying to London or Los Angeles. I am just glad SQ has it for us.

Enjoy CDG Cruiser. Watch out for pickpockets as they are pretty active at the moment. We always enjoy France.

I don't BTC - flying is an adventure to me - pre-plan as little as possible - and please don't blog me - whatever that means.

Mrscove does not ever want to phone Citi Australia ever again
I love it. Every time I do they screw something up and I usually extract 10K bonus points from them as compensation. I have got >150K in compensation from Citi. Legit!

I did my 15% uplift points transfer over the Internet to avoid calling Citi. Sure you can extract a few points but we really do not need aggravation in our lives. I just keep loading these cards with expenses and the results are fantastic.

Advice on how you manage this? I've switched from QF points to Citi points and they've f'd it up.... my points aren't acruing in the online banking, and my statement had 0 points.. they told me over the phone that i wasn't properly enrolled in full citi rewards and they have fixed it now, but they haven't... and that they would manually credit the points from last month but that hasn't happened yet either... sigh...

Ferni you may choose to rarely call them once you have the CC running correctly. Your job will then be to check your points earn each month as Citi have no easy reconciliation. We speak from experience of Mrscove who will not call them to get her credit limit up to my limit. Having said this we love the results.

hi guys,
does the prestige card give regular points earn (2pts/$1) on insurance premium payments? i tried looking on the PDS but couldn't find that info. we pay a fair bit and have previously used our ANZ cards. i know the amex velocity only gives 0.5ppd but couldn't find info for the prestige.

thanks in advance.
