FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

How did you guys manage to get the fee reduced anyway? I tried and they pretty much told me to piss off and downgrade to a another card. Charge about $60k on it every year. Can't see any reason holding it anymore TBH.

Try again mate. I've had the same answer and I hung up and tried again after a day (think it was Monday and ring the number on the back of the card 02 ...... which then gets routed to overseas) and managed to have the fee waived altogether. I gather that they are already reducing it to $350 for anyone who ask - just a matter of pushing them to get the other waived!!

Still value in this card - I have just booked Waldorf Hilton London for late May 2022 - 1 Bedroom King Executive Suite for 4nts at rate A$4,074.00 with 4th night Credit of A$848.75 - rate direct with Hilton is GBP2,196.40 (~A$4,017.20).

And yet I still have NEVER paid and annual fee for entirety I have held this card - go figure.

The end of the line - just cancelled Prestige after such a long looong hold - this card was fantastic for me in terms of pts earn early days and the Stay 4 / Pay 3 hotel stays over the years - and entirety of time I held this card I never paid a single annual fee - no idea how this came about but it was very sweet. Yep Citi were a challenge to deal at times with but benefits far far far outweighed any inconvenience - bye bye Citi 👍

Got a “no caller ID” call from someone with a subcontinent accent purporting to be from the NAB wanting to talk about Citi.

Of course I knew NAB purchased Citibank’s retail arm.

But I went down to “scam route” for about 5 minutes just for entertainment. To be fair, the bloke at the other end was very patient🤣

Had you applied for any of the Citi credit offers?

I don't answer those calls but such a chap was very persistent in contacting me. Turns out it was about an offer I had applied for but forgotten about.

And recently, other calls to Citi have also ended with sales pitches to convert unused CC credit to cash.

what about the $100 gift card every month?
Free mobile phone insurance?
And very unlikely you will get a premium card like that for free again. A points earning card thats free trumps any other that has a annual fee.

What’s the $100 gift card every month, I haven’t had a gif card for some time

Ok re Citi Prestige - we all have different wants needs and desires re CCs - for me Prestige was a fabulous pts earner and the Stay 4 Pay 3 benefit was also fabulous - pts earn on this card now is abysmal and no more free night benefits so here come the scissors - not interested in any GCs or free insurance - to me this card is dead - remind me again who is taking over Citi? I would suggest any remaining value will soon be stripped away - time will tell

You must have email offers turned off, or dont open the app ( offers are shown there), the call centre also promotes these offers evert time you call.

Citi call them Fixed Payment Option or FPO. Convert $2500 to 6 month instalments for a 1.5% fee, and get $100 gift card.

I have pocketed over $1000 in gift cards over the last 1-2 years. the fee has gone up recently but is still free money.

I was offered those but never took them up. Too concerned I wouldn't spend the gift card before expiry. Free money, I know but too many hurdles for me.

The gift cards have a three year expiry (minimum) on them. I get Coles cards because I know that I'll buy groceries.

I signed up for this card, I see on AFF the minimum income is $150k but couldn’t see that on the application anywhere so applied anyway (I dont meet the $150k) just been approved, chasing the 300k points to transfer to KF. while Citi can be hard to deal with, $350 for that many bonus points is worth the headache, and I have some internal bookings to make so 4 nights for 3 is going to work out for well me
