FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Hello all

1. Does anyone know of the free hotel night and complimentary limo transfer is for BOTH the primary and supplementary card holder separately or one per account?
2. Even with the signature card, the priority pass membership is yearly right? Is this calender year or annually reset with date of signup?
3. Anyone used the concierge service or the travel service to book flights? R the prices comparable to other online travel agents like Expedia webjet or zuji?

many thanks for any replies :)

Admittedly, my experience is with the Visa Infinite/Signature Concierges (may be different to this) but when I've used them to book hotels I know they've checked HotelClub.com/visa for their rates. Originally, I was surprised because the rate they found for a particular hotel was about 25% cheaper than I could find elsewhere (Agoda, Expedia, etc) but because they used the Visa portal it was cheaper. Other times their HotelClub portal is more expensive but I tend to use them for recommendations and will price-check before booking.

If you're concerned about prices I am pretty sure you could ask the consultant to check their prices against Expedia/Webjet/Zuji and they would more than happily do that for you.

In the past I've also had to cut a trip short and because I booked through Visa Concierges they were more than happy to speak to HotelClub for me and get a refund of the amount (despite it being cancelled approx 24 hrs before check-in time). It went against the policies on the HotelClub website but I didn't have to deal with anyone but the Visa Concierge :)

I've generally been very impressed with the assistance of the Visa Concierges - I've used them a few times to get gifts for people (locally and overseas) and they've been flawless. It's usually quicker to Google yourself (they will take 1-3 days) but if you're in a hurry or the results are predominantly in a foreign language then it's great.

Just noticed something strange.

Citi Prestige Credit Card Benefits: From travel and security to your rewards

New Citi Prestige card holders who's also CitiGold will receive 30,000 "annual relationship bonus points" every year they remain as CitiGold. Current Citi Prestige cardholders who's also CitiGold will not get this ever. I called them and they confirmed this is true but couldn't explain why they don't value the ongoing relationship of current CitiGold + Prestige cardholders.

I can understand one-off sign-on bonuses for new customers but can't understand if new customers will get something "for life" but existing customers will not get it ever. An innovative way to push existing customers to walk a way for a couple of years to become "new" again to the bank?!

Does anyone find the citigold to be of much use?

The reduced annual fee is interesting along with the bonus reward points each year. $350 for 1.33 SQ or VA is quite good, with the equivalent of 20K miles each year for free and 5 reward points on overseas transactions and unlimited PP would help when I'm slumming it on air asia flights .

Logically speaking when they say "Current Citi Prestige Cardholders", they can't be speaking about those who are currently on Select as technically speaking, they haven't got any Prestige card so when they convert, I would imagine they would be considered new.

There is a note about applying from 1 November 2014. That would be fine but if not getting the points ever, I think it would not be right.

Also note on the Meet and Greet is actually ending 31 Dec 2015 and only covering 30Kms radius. http://citibank.com.au/citiprestige/pdf/important-information.pdf

Meet & Greet is for the main cardholder only. Other travelling companions travelling together will need to pay approx. 200usd per person.

The limo transfer run by YQ services is only for a standard sedan and for 4 pax max. So only 2 large check-in luggage will be accepted. Any extra check-in bags you will need to upgrade to a mini van for approx. 55 usd one way.

Have received the quote from the concierge desk.

Happy travels.

Will be interesting what cars are used when we sample the service later this month.
I had lovely visions of the Q7 and A8 used to take us for EY flights last year and missed the experience when we went back to our preferred SQ or CX route a few months back.

So.... spouse and supplementary are USD$200 each. Bah....

The limo is also bah....

So what's the value proposition again?

actually i thought about this... existing citigold customers can get $350 off the annual fee. with the conversion to prestige, looks like new card holders will be given 30,000 point in-lieu of the cash discount...
so i would rather keep the cash discount...

Exactly what I was thinking.

Need to move fast if you would like to utilise the free hotel stay this calendar year before end of December 2014. Starting January 2015 you are entitled to another free stay. 1 per calendar year.

is there a list of available hotels? and when does the card actually come online? later this month/ early December? no doubt there will be significant black out dates during late December.

I've called them and am already showing as prestige even though still have the select plastic. I'm looking for a U.S. Hotel atm. They promised to email me the list a couple of days ago but no sign of it yet. They did give me the names of 2 hotels where I'm staying at in the US.

Is it one stay per calendar year (jab-dec or per membership year?

Looks like I will have this card for one year then probably cancel it. They had initially agreed on halving the annual fee for the life of the product, but no will only waive the full year's annual fee for teh 1st year only :(

Man I hate dealing with them - was tempted to bring my mortgage across to become a CitiGold client, but it's too much effort

Card is active as of roll out date and you could use your benefits immediately if previously a SELECT card holder. No need to wait until new card arrives. No link of hotels at this stage. The concierge team can provide you that list if required
