PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

I know I asked a couple of days ago but could I ask again for someone to check please.
Upgrade to J request put in for QF18 LAX-SYD saturday 25 July, but nothing so far. But lots of movement around the cabin.

A few days ago
Showing as a 747: J9 C9 D9 I0 W9 R9 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M8 L3 V1 S1 N1 G0 E0

Today: J9 C2 D0 I0 U0 W5 R3 T0 Z0 Y9 B9 H7 K2 M0 L0 G0 E0

So D9 down to D0 suggests chances may have reduced markedly.

Well still no upgrade less than 24 hours to flight.
Strangely this afternoon I logged in and it said no seats selected so went in to choose and excitedly saw that they were offering a business class seat - in fact the only vacant one. Excitedly selected the seat, but when I clicked on next it still showed the economy selection as well.
Then the dreaded words "error".
So i phoned Qantas and the operator said the upgrade had been requested but still some process to be done.
But now 3 hours later still only showing the economy seat.
So feeling deflated and wondering if someone else had jumped in and now no seats available.
If anyone can check the flight for me I would appreciate it.

Thank you JohnM.
So maybe still some hope.
It now shows in the booking wait listed, whatever that means.

Noob question..... is it more difficult to score upgrades on a Sat night flight to arrive in AU Monday? I thought it might be more likely to be full.

Could someone with EF possibly pull a seatmap for QF16 on Sun 26 July please? Here's what we've got at present. In a party of 3 only PS, I'm not counting on an upgrade but am hoping for row 44.

Qf 18 departing LAX 25 July.

Well an up date.
A few hours later it showed in the booking again wait listed for both Business and Premium economy. Sat like that for a couple of hours and then disappeared.
Boarded in Las Vegas only economy boarding passes issued. Had a 5 hour wait in LAX sadly no Qantas lounge. Asked about upgrade but told flight is full.
When going through gate a beep, and yes upgrade had come through. Happy! and sad that the 5 hour layover could have been spend nicely in the lounge.
So in the end the upgrade did come through eventually! Talk about angst. But a much more pleasurable flight home costing 72,000 points.

So thank you all for helping along the way.

Appreciate if someone could help with seat availability on 29 July for EK419 SYD-BKK leg.

Also wondering whether EK receives QF status data for award tickets booked through QF, and whether QF status counts for anything on EK.

Thanx in advance.

Thanx Steady

So if I'm understanding this it means 4 seats available in the F cabin, 7 in the J cabin and plenty in Y, so little to no chance of op-up from J to F.

And QF don't provide EK with pax status.

Maybe some op-up action:

Hey defurax - I meant to ask the other day when you posted this grab... What site/app is this? Certainly looks 'Androidy'. I am using EF on iOS at the moment, and it frustrates me that I can't (or can't seem to find how) to run flight availability through the app or mobile web site. As a result, I just fumble around with the desktop version on the phone, where I'm away from a PC... but this looks a darn sight better!

Cheers,
Matt.

I use this address (works with both internet browser on my Android phone): https://www.expertflyer.com/mobile/main.do

Maybe it's an iOS specific issue?

It may well be... When I open in Safari, I only get the below options? I presume I'm missing something... is it subscription based? I just I have a basic subscription:
It's subscription based, and when you say you have the "basic" subscription, I suspect it's the free one, which gives you the screen you have attached. The "premium" version has a lot more options, and costs something like $100 USD per year. Some of us use it a lot and is good value, but others who would only use it, say, once or twice every few months, you have this thread.
