PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

I have seq #166 on a QF SYD-BNE flight and they have just asked for volunteers for anyone without checked luggage if they want to leave earlier. Surely there can only be a sprinkling of middle seats available?

Ask what seats they have before taking it up?

Again, with due respect, you seem to be missing the point that many of your potential customers have been making
We do understand that some of our current and potential users have a preference for a fully-native Mac version, which does not currently exist.

I am very puzzled at your insistence over the years that KVS runs under various OSes.
It's a matter of fact, not insistence -- many KVS Tool Users successfully run it on non-Windows machines (with Macs being the most popular) every day

If you have gone so far down the path of using whatever development tool you use that there is no possibility of cross-compatibility without a total re-write of the code,
At the present time, a separate native Mac version is both unfeasible and unnecessary.

just tell your potential customers you will never support any environment but Windows.
On the contrary, as a matter of policy, we provide the same level of support to users who would like to run the KVS Tool in non-Windows environments, as we do to Windows users. Furthermore, the KVS Tool code contains the appropriate accommodations for Mac and Linux users.

*) Pedantically WiNE is not an emulator because it does not emulate the CPU (pure emulators can translate CPU instructions, and therefore allow running software designed for a specific type of CPU (e.g. x86) on another type of CPU (e.g. RISC)), but it nevertheless emulates a Windows environment in a supported OS running on an Intel CPU. So, yes, even though WiNE is Not an Emulator, its functionality so closely resembles one that its developers had to specifically state it is not an emulator...
That is correct.

CX138's not looking favourable, but a fair chance on the return I would think.

Does a "Prem Economy BronzeFF to Business" take priority over "Economy SilverFF to Business"?

That is correct.

I have a Mac and found it impossible to use the kvs tool on it. I don't have an IT degree which is what seemed to be needed to use the kvs tool help info to make it work on my Mac. I gave up and now use a windows computer solely for the kvstool which is about 6 years old

We are glad you have found a suitable solution. However, if you would also like to run the KVS Tool on your Mac, please let us know -- CrossOver Mac setup shouldn't take more than 5 minutes and it doesn't require any special technical knowledge.

I did try that but after paying my annual fee for kvs I don't want to pay another fee to use the cross over tool. I would have expected that I would not have to pay another fee for the luxury of using my Mac.

But it's a Mac, everything is more expensive with a Mac :P

What do you think the possibles of an op up are?

Looks unlikely for the return

I've been upgraded on QF Japan flights 95% of the time I've used them, normally from op ups.
In August 2013, I was booked in R on QF21 and was upgraded at check in. In the lounge, I learnt that weather issues in SYD were causing all the CBR-SYD flights to be delayed. Lounge staff were just "oh, we'll put you on whatever flight is ready to depart first" until I pointed out I was connecting to NRT at which point they had an "oh ****" moment and started looking for reroute options. Their first option was to overnight in SYD, then JL in the morning. JL was full. Then QF to MEL with JQ MEL-DRW(-MNL)-NRT (which got an automatic no from me), then finally onto CX ex MEL. So lost the op up on QF.
Then as soon as I got to the CX MEL lounge... op up.
