PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Sorry all, you're right... it was for QF151 that I posted. Didn't copy the flight number from EF, that was added. It was the only direct QF flight between the two cities tonight, so figured that was it...?

Apparently qf155 tonight is full which doesn't make sense according to the loadings

Sorry about that... the loadings above were actually for QF151, which is the later (empty!) flight - the only QF operated direct flight showing up for MEL-AKL in ExpertFlyer tonight. I still couldn't see QF155 in availability, but the seat map search just now for QF155 shows it is indeed jam packed, with only 4E, 5B and 7B available. :(

On QF8 2/9. Could someone please look at the updated loads?
Also currently have 49A - is 49B showing as blocked?
For some reason I cannot login to EF mobile.

Cheers, Al

Upgrade Y to J QF10 on 7th September Granted and seat selected. Makes for a happy Birthday and Fathers Day

A Further update and Y to J on QF36 has come through with seat selected. It is the new config currently so looking forward to trying that.

Hi All,

Flying Air NZ 6 Auckland - LAX on Friday 11th September. Being offered a minimum of $330 (recommended $550) to upgrade to PE, currently in economy booking class K.
Flying back on NZ5 on the 17th of September, same class, same upgrade options.

What is the load like, should I make an offer, and any opinions on what amount would it not be "worth it". Total ticket cost was only $1038. Never flown Air NZ before...

Thanks.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

1st time poster..love this forum
1st time upgrade request too...
Have applied for Y to J upgrade on QF9 LHR-DXB ON 25/9 and Y to J on QF52 SIN-BNE ON 26/9.

Could any possibly check loads on these flights? I know it's a fair way out, and things could still change.

Thanks!

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

What status are you?
If QF PS little luck, if QF SG better luck even if space available to upgrade esp LHR - DXB.
WP or P1 of CL best chances.
On here the usual successful upgradees are top status ie Platinums.
