PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

I don't know how long it will last being on mainstream blogs. Plus an E/F annual subscription enable queries to be saved ...
Think I might wait a while to see if it persists before thinking of abandoning EF.

Thanks in advance.
I know the answer is probably U0 for this flight I have booked in flexY.
12 Jun 2017 QF663 BNE - ADL
Rev J shows availability but I was informed I need to check U subclass.

Thanks Pjm99au.
I will do a rev J via BNE on my next sojourn to NZ. Most likely Sep this year.
Edit-J upgrade is the aim.
Maybe the upgrade ferrie/guy will ve kind to me.

Well good luck to you. FYI you don't need U availability for a J upgrade. U is only relevant for a business class award seat

Business upgrades on Qantas book into U class.

Domestically, if a U seat is available and you are ticketed in Economy on the same flight you can upgrade immediately using points.

Sure I agree they ticket into U when you are upgraded. I was just attempting to highlighting that if you can't see U availability now it doesn't mean there is no chance of an upgrade.

No problem - however, U is extremely relevant for Upgrade awards.

All QF points upgrades to business class book into U; domestically when U becomes available and internationally at the preset time based on status (or at the gate).

U is what I am looking for when I book in Y with intention to upgrade with points to J. As Serfty says, if U is available, you can upgrade as soon as booking made, and pick your seat and forget about until OLCI. Being only SG at best (like australianpoochie) I have never succeeded with an upgrade when there was no U.

*For domestic flights only. U availability on an Int flight does not get you an instant upgrade (unless there is a recent change I am unaware of)

Very true, only on domestic. Of course U on an international, while not subject to an instant upgrade is probably a better pointer even than I/D, but only much closer to departure.
